Your Mission
As a Model Trains Expert, you will curate high-quality auctions that attract engaged bidders and trusted sellers. Your expertise ensures each lot is relevant, accurately valued, and aligned with collector expectations. You contribute directly to the growth and success of your category by combining specialist knowledge with commercial judgement, maintaining transparency and building strong relationships within the model trains community.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and arrange model train lots submitted by users, ensuring each auction features attractive and relevant listings
- Create compelling weekly lot selections using your expertise and professional network
- Review titles, descriptions, and images to assess quality and provide accurate estimated values
- Safeguard transparent and fair transactions through consistent expert evaluation
- Communicate rejections professionally and diplomatically, maintaining strong seller relationships
- Collaborate with Sales to attract new sellers and diversify the range and quality of lots
- Partner with Marketing to increase bidder engagement and visibility for your auctions
What You'll Bring
- Expert knowledge in Model Trains
- Strong commercial acumen and documented commercial experience
- An eye for trade and value within the collectibles market
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act diplomatically in user disputes
- A network of potential sellers and experts within your field
- Good computer skills and confidence working with digital tools
- Good command of English, written and spoken
Where You'll Be
This is a 100% remote role that can be based in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, or the United Kingdom.

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
