Paralegal - Antitrust & Competition
Requirements
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the preparation and coordination of legal and regulatory filings, including merger control or FDI submissions, responses to requests for information, pleadings, motions, and exhibits, and related correspondence, while ensuring alignment with applicable rules and deadlines
- Conducting detailed searches for factual information and/or reviews of deal materials or Virtual Data Room (“VDR”) databases, gathering and compiling relevant information in support of antitrust assessments
- Analysing and structuring data to conduct merger control filing analysis, leveraging artificial intelligence tools and other resources as appropriate
- Supporting attorneys in preparation for court or agency hearings
- Helping maintain electronic case files and other document repositories, and accompanying indexes or reference documents
- Assisting with the collating and summarizing of large numerical data sets
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Exhibit highly developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
- Possess strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
And have:
- Prior experience in a law firm as a paralegal or associate, or with a competition authority, such as the European Commission
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- A master’s degree in law
- A strong understanding of competition law, preferably

About the Role
The Paralegal - Antitrust & Competition is an integral member of our Brussels office as well as our wider European antitrust practice, and part of Latham's Legal Professional and Paralegal team. This role will be responsible for performing substantive client work of a varied nature, in support of supervisors, namely associates and partners in relation to various antitrust, merger control and FDI matters. This role is eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for hybrid remote work and in-office presence. This role will be located in our Brussels office.
