JOB SUMMARY

The Specialist, Technical Information Group (TIG) will work on cosmetic products for our NARS, Drunk Elephant, and other brands. Working with both innovation projects and calendarized launches, they will take a project from concept stage to market launch, with a focus on developing claims and conducting efficacy tests. This role will collaborate closely with all our partners, including marketing, formulation chemists, regulatory, safety, Shiseido global partners, and other cross-functional teams to develop winning products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• You will select effective ingredients, incorporate various technologies for formula development.
• You will develop claims and review marketing product copies.
• You will drive clinical and consumer test development, execute the test via external testing houses, utilize different testing methods and critically analyze data.
• You will provide technical support to Marketing - help develop novel product concept/claims, interpretation of data and technologies, etc.
• You will support products' global launch, meet the requirements of local regulations.
• You will partner with raw material vendors, external testing houses and other industry representatives; if needed, incorporate relevant new technologies and services in our product launch.
• You will maintain awareness of competitor launches, new technologies and new trends. Research consumer insight using various tools.
• You will create and deliver compelling and influential presentations to partners and management.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have a BS or graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, chemical engineering or related science field.
• You have more than 3 years of experience in cosmetic product industry, good understanding of cosmetic product development, from technical side. In depth understanding of makeup/color products will be a plus.
• You are skilled in scientific claim development and substantiation.
• You have a background in clinical/consumer testing, able to carry out studies and critically analyze data.
• You can work in a matrix organization, handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and attention to details.
• You have strong skills in thinking creatively and strategically, define risks, and able to take control of complicated projects.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills, able to align different parties, prepare and deliver impactful presentations to peers and management for decision making.
• You have passion for cosmetic industry, able to explore market space, gather, analyze and summarize data, and monitor industry trends.

The base pay for this position may vary based on geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be based on several factors including job-specific knowledge, education, skills, and depth of experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as components of a total compensation package, including participation in our bonus program which features the ability to overachieve, in addition to a full range of competitive benefits.
