Senior Golang Engineer

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global leader in the meal kit delivery industry that helps millions of customers cook healthy, homemade meals without the stress of meal planning or grocery shopping.

As part of Zoolatech's distributed engineering team, you will contribute to the development of scalable backend services powering a global digital platform used by millions of customers worldwide. You will work in a modern cloud-native environment where engineering teams own services end-to-end, from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers, product managers, designers, and data teams to build reliable, high-performance solutions while contributing to a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang

• Build and evolve cloud-native microservices and distributed systems

• Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS

• Take ownership of services throughout their lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational improvements

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business goals

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making

• Contribute to improving system reliability, scalability, performance, and observability

• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies and engineering practices

• Strong commercial experience with Golang

• Solid background in backend development, microservices, and distributed systems

• Experience building event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS, or similar messaging technologies

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

• Experience designing REST APIs (gRPC is a plus)

• Solid knowledge of relational databases

• Strong understanding of testing practices, including unit and integration testing

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

• Good communication skills and English sufficient for collaborating with international teams

• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools

• Experience with Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or GraphQL

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry

• Experience working with high-scale distributed systems

• Exposure to JVM languages or Python

• Experience in e-commerce or other large-scale consumer platforms
