Indicative, not a promise: these adverts fit the shape of the route. Nothing here means the employer will sponsor a visa — confirm with them before you commit.
What it is
- Every listing here is fully remote, at a company not founded in Spain, with a hiring scope that spans a region including Spain — EMEA, Europe, or worldwide. That is the employment shape the digital nomad visa (Ley 28/2022) covers: living in Spain while working for an employer abroad.
- The visa is yours to obtain, not the employer’s. For 2026 it requires around €2,850 gross per month (€34,188 a year — 200% of the Spanish minimum wage) in total remote income, a relationship of at least three months with your employer or clients, and a university degree or three years’ experience. A salary on a listing is only an indicator: the income test is about you, and freelancers can combine several clients to meet it.
- If you are an employee rather than a freelancer, your employer has to cooperate: a letter authorizing remote work from Spain, and social-security coverage — either a certificate under a bilateral agreement (the US and UK have one) or registering with Spanish social security. Ask before you commit; some companies do this readily, others won’t. Freelancers and contractors handle the application themselves, with work for Spanish companies capped at 20% of their activity.
- A broad remote scope in an ad is a strong signal, not a promise. Before applying for the visa, confirm with the employer that working from Spain is allowed for the specific role — some remote roles carry residency or time-zone restrictions stated elsewhere in the ad.
Who it’s for
- Non-EU remote employees of a company outside Spain, or freelancers whose Spanish clients stay under 20% of their work.
- People earning at least €34,188 a year (€2,850 a month) in total remote income — from one job or several clients.
- Anyone with a degree or three years’ experience and a working relationship of at least three months with their employer or clients.
What it isn’t
- It is not sponsorship — none of these companies is applying for anything on your behalf.
- It is not a promise the role allows working from Spain. A broad hiring scope is a strong signal; some remote roles carry residency or time-zone restrictions stated elsewhere in the ad. Confirm before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Spain’s digital nomad visa?
- A residence visa (Ley 28/2022) for non-EU remote workers: employees of companies outside Spain, and freelancers whose Spanish clients stay under 20% of their work. It grants residence for up to three years initially and can lead to long-term residence.
- How much do I need to earn for the digital nomad visa in 2026?
- About €2,850 gross per month — €34,188 a year, which is 200% of the Spanish minimum wage. The test applies to your total stable remote income, not to any single job, and rises with each dependent family member.
- Do the companies listed here sponsor visas?
- No — that is the point. These roles fit a visa you apply for yourself. If you want employers who state visa or work-permit sponsorship for roles based in Spain, that is a different list: see the visa sponsorship jobs page.
- Can I use the digital nomad visa to work for a Spanish company?
- Not as an employee — the visa requires your employer to be outside Spain. Freelancers may bill Spanish clients only up to 20% of their activity. A job at a Spanish company needs ordinary work authorization instead.
- What does my employer have to provide?
- For employees: a letter authorizing remote work from Spain, proof the relationship is at least three months old and the company has operated for at least a year, and social-security coverage — a certificate of coverage where a bilateral agreement exists, or Spanish registration. Freelancers apply without employer paperwork.
- How is this list built?
- We keep remote roles whose stated hiring scope includes Spain as part of a wider region (EMEA, Europe, worldwide) at companies not founded in Spain. It is an indicative match on the job’s shape — always confirm with the employer that working from Spain is allowed for the role.
