Senior Principal Engineer

We are looking for a Senior  Principal Engineer.

Someone who does not work from closed requirements, but rather understands the problem in depth, questions it when necessary, and proposes solutions and improvements.

This is a technical role, close to the teams and the product, where responsibility is not limited to defining, but also to building and supporting what goes into production.

A significant part of the role involves understanding the system and the context in which it operates. This means working close to real users —in stores, logistics, or operations— and understanding how systems affect specific business processes. Based on that understanding, you are expected to be able to identify underlying problems, not just symptoms, and to propose simpler or more effective alternatives.

On the design side, you will actively participate in defining technical solutions from early stages. You will translate complex problems into solutions that are maintainable and evolvable over time, making decisions about architecture, data models, APIs, or integrations. The use of data and AI capabilities will be a natural part of this process, both to improve the products themselves (automation, optimization, assistants) and to accelerate solution exploration and decision-making.

The role maintains a direct connection to implementation. It is not just about judgment, but also the ability to get into the details when necessary: reviewing code, participating in technical design decisions, or contributing directly to unblock specific situations. In this context, the use of AI tools applied to development (code assistance, testing, analysis) is part of the day-to-day to improve quality and speed.

Additionally, you will work with multiple teams, helping to raise the quality of technical decisions and maintain consistency across systems. This involves detecting unnecessary complexity, aligning approaches when there are dependencies, and proposing simpler ways to solve common problems. Part of the role also involves driving practical use of AI in engineering and product, ensuring its adoption makes sense from both a technical and business standpoint.

Es un rol técnico, cercano a los equipos y al producto, donde la responsabilidad no se limita a definir, sino también a construir y acompañar lo que se pone en producción.

Una parte importante del rol consiste en entender bien el sistema y el contexto en el que opera. Esto implica trabajar cerca de usuarios reales —en tienda, logística u operaciones— y comprender cómo los sistemas afectan a procesos concretos del negocio. A partir de ese entendimiento, se espera que seas capaz de identificar problemas de fondo, no solo síntomas, y de plantear alternativas más simples o más efectivas.

En la parte de diseño, participarás activamente en la definición de soluciones técnicas, desde fases tempranas. Traducirás problemas complejos en soluciones que sean mantenibles y evolucionables en el tiempo, tomando decisiones sobre arquitectura, modelos de datos, APIs o integraciones. El uso de datos y capacidades de IA formará parte natural de este proceso, tanto para mejorar los propios productos (automatización, optimización, asistentes) como para acelerar la exploración de soluciones y la toma de decisiones.

El rol mantiene una conexión directa con la implementación. No se espera solo criterio, sino también capacidad de bajar al detalle cuando sea necesario: revisar código, participar en decisiones de diseño técnico o contribuir directamente para desbloquear situaciones concretas. En este contexto, el uso de herramientas de IA aplicadas al desarrollo (asistencia al código, testing, análisis) forma parte del día a día para mejorar la calidad y la velocidad.

Además, trabajarás con varios equipos, ayudando a elevar la calidad de las decisiones técnicas y a mantener coherencia entre sistemas. Esto implica detectar complejidad innecesaria, alinear enfoques cuando hay dependencias y proponer formas más simples de resolver problemas comunes. Parte del rol también consiste en impulsar un uso práctico de la IA en ingeniería y producto, asegurando que su adopción tenga sentido desde el punto de vista técnico y de negocio.
