Safety and Health Technician

This position covers various shifts during the day and, occasionally, also at night, so we need flexibility to cover different shifts.

Key job responsibilities

• Conduct audits and risk assessments.
• Oversee the site to ensure that processes comply with Amazon's safety procedures.
• Create and update safety metrics reports for colleagues to review.
• Collaborate with Operations staff and the entire company on safety-related tasks and provide guidance on processes.
• Support the adoption of new safety measures.

A day in the life

You will work at one of our centers. This means you can closely follow what happens and colleagues can easily consult you during their shifts. This position involves identifying potential problems before they occur. You will spend a lot of time reviewing the center and understanding how staff use the equipment. By understanding how each task and machine works, you can think of the best way to keep processes safe.

You will also be one of the people responsible for implementing safety changes, which involves working closely with many people. In addition to your daily and weekly tasks, you will support the Operations team in one-off safety-related work.

Safety is fundamental at Amazon, and you will help us collect the essential data that allows us to control our processes and anticipate any incidents. You will also share that data with staff across the company and work with other teams to ensure that safety is always the top priority.

About the team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team plays a fundamental role in ensuring the mental and physical well-being of our workforce at work. Our team works with managers, associates, and local authorities across all our sites, ensuring compliance with Amazon policies and legal regulations, and guaranteeing the safety of our working environments. The team offers a variety of opportunities, from Safety Technicians to Program Managers. Regardless of your role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the safety strategy across the network.

• Vocational training certificate or degree in Occupational Risk Prevention, or Safety and Hygiene, or equivalent.
• Relevant experience applying data analysis to generate and explain metrics.
• Advanced level of Spanish. (C1 CEFR)

• Experience communicating with all types of business partners, either in writing or through presentations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A day in the life
