Sustainability Specialist

The person joining will form part of the sustainability team, which develops many projects in direct coordination with other company areas or departments.

Fundamentally, they will participate in:

• Preparation of the Barceló Group sustainability report (carrying out internal controls to ensure data reliability and quality, coordination and follow-up with hotels, content development, support during verification audits)
• Support for the implementation and monitoring of sustainability standards in our hotels: Barceló Regen standards.
• Support for the implementation of projects developed in the area, in coordination with the rest of the involved departments (decarbonization plan, double materiality, impact project, etc.).
• Identifying and implementing initiatives, together with associations, entities, and NGOs... that align with our sustainability strategy.

• 2/3 years of experience working directly in sustainability (either in a company's sustainability department or in a consulting firm), with mastery of all associated processes and the main sustainability concepts
• Advanced English level is required.
• Knowledge of the hotel sector is desirable.
• A master's degree or advanced course in sustainability is desirable.
• Knowledge of non-financial reporting regulations.
• Knowledge of sustainability certification standards.

La persona que se incorpore formará parte del equipo de sostenibilidad que desarrolla muchos proyectos en coordinación directa con otras áreas o departamentos de la compañía.

Fundamentalmente, participará en:

• Elaboración de la memoria de sostenibilidad del Grupo Barceló (realización de controles internos para garantizar la fiabilidad y calidad del dato, coordinación y seguimiento a hoteles, desarrollo de contenidos, apoyo durante auditoría de verificación)
• Apoyo a la implantación y seguimiento de los estándares de sostenibilidad en nuestros hoteles: Barceló Regen standards.
• Apoyo en la implementación de los proyectos que se desarrollen en el área en coordinación con el resto de departamentos implicados (plan de descarbonización, doble materialidad, proyecto de impacto, etc.).
• Identificar e implantar las iniciativas, junto con asociaciones, entidades y ONGs... que vayan en línea con nuestra estrategia de sostenibilidad.

• 2/3 años trabajando directamente en temas de sostenibilidad (ya sea en el departamento de sostenibilidad de una Compañía o en una empresa consultora) con dominio de todos los procesos asociados y de los principales conceptos de sostenibilidad
• Inglés nivel avanzado imprescindible.
• Deseable conocimiento del sector hotelero.
• Deseable máster o curso avanzado en sostenibilidad.
• Conocimiento normativa de reporting de información no financiera
• Conocimiento de estándares de certificación en sostenibilidad.
