Summary

IrsiCaixa is looking for a Senior Pre-Award Specialist to join its Pre-Award Department. IrsiCaixa, supported by Fundació "La Caixa" and the Ministry of Health of the Government of Catalonia, and located at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, is a research institute in the field of life sciences with focus on infectious diseases, immune system disorders, and emerging infectious threats.

Job duties

This full-time position requires an experienced professional to work within the Pre-Award Department, supporting researchers in the identification and management of national and international competitive calls.

Candidate profile and qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role within a pre-award department of a life science organization, managing application to national, European, and international research funding calls.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively, especially during peak periods common in pre-award activities.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Team player with a proactive hands-on mindset.
  • Curiosity-driven and strategic approach to research funding.
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of pre-award processes.
  • Awareness of funding rules, eligibility criteria, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with grant management platforms/portals or submission systems.
  • Experience with Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence and María de Maeztu Units of Excellence calls will be highly appreciated.
