About the role

Do you have experience as a Network and Communications Engineer and are you ready to take the leap into a co-leadership position in a powerful corporate environment?

We are selecting a Network and Communications Engineer for our client, a prominent hotel chain, to join on-site at their headquarters.

We are looking for a professional to work in collaboration with the Infrastructure and Operations Manager in the role of Network and Communications Engineer. Your main mission will be to design, implement, and maintain the corporate and hotel network and communications infrastructure of the group, ensuring secure, stable, and high-performance connectivity for both internal operations and the guest experience across all hotels and corporate offices.

What you'll do

  • Design, deploy, and maintain the network architecture (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN) that connects the corporate headquarters with hotels and regional offices.
  • Manage network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers), ensuring proper operation and updates.
  • Manage communication links with telecommunications operators, including technical negotiation of bandwidth and SLAs.
  • Monitor network capacity and performance, anticipating scaling needs for hotel openings or renovations.
  • Design and maintain guest and operational WiFi networks, segmented with differentiated service levels.
  • Optimize wireless network coverage and capacity in common areas, rooms, and operational zones.
  • Coordinate with Guest Experience teams on the perceived quality of connectivity by the end customer.
  • Provide technical support for complex WiFi connectivity incidents escalated from the Service Desk or Regional Support.
  • Administer perimeter security devices (firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN) for the corporate and hotel network.
  • Define and maintain network segmentation policies (VLANs), separating management, operations, PMS/POS, and guest networks.
  • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity area on implementing network access controls and responding to incidents related to communications infrastructure.
  • Manage secure remote access (VPN, Zero Trust Network Access) for employees and vendors.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools (NMS) for proactive detection of incidents and service outages.
  • Analyze network performance and produce periodic availability and capacity reports.
  • Establish alerts and escalation procedures for critical communications incidents.
  • Document the network topology and keep diagrams and technical inventories up to date.
  • Participate in projects for opening, renovating, or integrating new hotels, defining network and communications requirements.
  • Evaluate and propose new network technologies (SD-WAN, Wi-Fi 6/7, 5G, hotel IoT) that improve service and reduce costs.
  • Standardize network configurations and procedures applicable to all hotels in the group.
  • Manage the technical relationship with network and communications vendors and integrators.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. CCNA/CCNP (Cisco) certifications and certifications in Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki, or other relevant manufacturers for the group are highly valued.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of experience in corporate network management, ideally in multi-site or multi-country environments. Experience in hotel networks or environments with high guest device density (highly valued). Experience managing telecommunications providers.
  • Technical knowledge: Mastery of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN, SD-WAN). Experience with firewalls and perimeter security solutions. Knowledge of network monitoring tools (NMS, SNMP). Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure/AWS) for hybrid connectivity is valued.
  • Languages: Spanish: native or bilingual level. English: upper-intermediate (B2), required for dealing with international manufacturers and vendors.

What you'll get

  • Stability: Permanent full-time contract.

How you'll work

  • Work-life balance schedule: Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, and Fridays with a continuous shift from 08:30 to 14:30.
  • Work model: On-site at the corporate headquarters, with availability to travel to hotels (Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica) during deployments, openings, or critical incidents.
  • Availability for occasional on-call technical duties.
