The public business entity Renfe Operadora, parent company of the Renfe Group, using the powers attributed to it within the framework established by Royal Decree 2396/2004 of December 30, which approves the Entity's Statute; in accordance with the authorizations of the corresponding bodies, hereby calls for the recruitment of permanent labor personnel. Participants

Both candidates external to the Renfe Group and employees of the company who meet the specific and valuable requirements detailed below may participate in this call.

Job Functions

• Define technical needs in projects for new technological developments for rolling stock, especially projects for the installation of new on-board digital and communications equipment. Prepare the Technical Specifications regarding this.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of bids from different tenderers.
• Supervise and control the quality of manufacturing and type and series tests at the factory for new developments of on-board digital equipment, approving the control ranges, test plans, and protocols prepared by manufacturers.
• Certify the correct execution of the work corresponding to the contractual billing milestones to proceed with the signing of the provisional reception acts of the on-board digitalization projects in trains.
• Design and specify on-board network architectures for newly acquired trains and modernization of the existing fleet towards scalable, modular, and secure network architectures.
• Define the requirements for the Smart Train for its application in the Renfe fleet.
• Coordinate and manage global solutions regarding on-board equipment technology in rolling stock engineering projects (CCTV, Cybersecurity, Energy measurement equipment, Efficient driving, Passenger Information Systems, etc.)
• Analyze and develop different train-to-ground communication solutions, via satellite, Wifi, 4G/LTE, 5G, etc., for centralized management from ground stations.
• Analyze applicable specifications and regulations. Verify the conformity of projects with current regulations and interoperability specifications.
• Develop projects in the field of digital transformation, implementing new on-board technologies to offer information and content to the customer through different digital platforms.
• Develop IoT (Internet of Things) solutions applied to the field of rolling stock.
• Coordinate global solutions regarding on-board equipment technology in rolling stock engineering projects.
• Explore new market technologies regarding railway communications and digital technology.

Job Requirements

• Official university degree, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering (electronics/automation specialty), or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in the implementation or development of remote monitoring systems in vehicles or industrial equipment.
• B2 level or higher of English, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Valuable Requirements

• Postgraduate training related to the job functions.
• Experience in team management and coordination.
• Experience in:
  • Communication systems architecture in railway rolling stock.
  • Industrial cybersecurity.
  • IOT systems integration.
  • Repair of electronic control boards or power electronic equipment.
  • Maintenance of industrial or railway equipment.
