Key job responsibilities

Apprenticeship Program:

We offer you a unique opportunity to train while gaining professional experience through a two-year program, through which you will obtain the official qualification of Senior Technician in Mechatronics and the professional experience needed to join our RME (Reliability, Maintenance, Engineering) teams. The program has the following structure:

It will be in a work-study format, meaning you will combine training periods with real experience at the fulfillment center where you have applied for the position. (When you need to travel for the training periods, Amazon will cover the costs of your stay and transportation from your assigned workplace.)

  • You will receive additional training in areas such as Risk Prevention, English, and technical skills (Robotics...).
  • You will complete the work-based training part of the program, learning the profession while working at the fulfillment center you applied to. During these periods, you will work in pre-established shifts.
  • Throughout the entire program, you will have the support of a mentor (tutor) who will help you succeed both during your time at the educational institution and at our fulfillment centers.

During the learning program, you will work towards achieving the following objectives:

Ensure standards are maintained to keep the work environment reliable, from modern logistics technologies to building facilities.

Implement and maintain high-tech equipment safely.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment using a dedicated asset management system (CMMS).

Ensure a high level of equipment availability for internal customers, using modern methods.

Respond quickly to breakdowns and failures, draw conclusions from them, and implement corrective actions.

Participate in the implementation of joint projects with various departments, particularly those aimed at increasing the safety level of equipment and facilities.

Raise the level of knowledge and skills through internal and external training and the exchange of experiences with equipment specialists.

Structure of the Learning Program:

You will start the apprenticeship program at the end of August 2026, studying for the Higher Degree in Mechatronics at Mondragon University, in a work-study format (training blocks of 6-8 intensive weeks), where you will acquire all the basic knowledge of this profession and put it into practice during the work-based learning phases at our fulfillment centers (blocks of 4-5 weeks). All travel required for the training weeks will be covered by Amazon.

During this phase, you will be in contact with the person who will be your tutor at the fulfillment center, and at the same time, during these first months, you will receive classes from our company's professionals (included in the curriculum of the program) about Amazon's approach to maintenance, or even insights into specific technologies.

During the phases at the fulfillment centers, you will get an immersive experience in this profession, sharing time with our teams, experiencing day-to-day tasks, always under the supervision and guidance of a tutor from our team of professionals.

Once you have successfully completed and obtained your qualification in the Higher Degree program, we want you to be able to continue your journey with us and apply for one of the technical staff positions available at our fulfillment centers.

Amazon will sponsor your tuition for the Higher Degree program and your stay in Mondragon (including full board at a student residence) and will cover transportation between the fulfillment center and the educational center for each work-study block.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum age: 18 years old.
  • Qualification (one of the following) completed in Spain or officially recognized at the time of application:
  • A) High School Diploma (Bachillerato).
  • B) Intermediate Vocational Training (FP Medio) (any specialty)
  • C) Advanced Vocational Training (FP Superior) (except Industrial Mechatronics) – since you will be studying this at Amazon.
  • D) University Degree
  • E) Passed University Entrance Exam for over 25s (Prueba de acceso a Grado Superior).
  • F) Equivalent studies officially recognized in Spain at the time of application
  • Availability and geographic mobility for full commitment to the program, considering that during the training blocks at the educational center you will need to reside in Mondragon (4 to 6-week blocks) alternating over two years.
  • Commitment to the complete 2-year program.
  • English level B2.

Nice to have

  • Previous training in the technical field will be highly valued, such as:
  • Technological or Scientific High School Diploma (Bachillerato Tecnológico o Científico)
  • Intermediate or Advanced Vocational Training cycles in technical specialties (Electricity, Electronics, Automation, Mechanics, etc.)
  • Previous experience or additional training in industrial or technological environments
