What you'll do
Collaborate with domain engineers, including safety and functional architecture teams, to translate requirements into working integrations for Digital Thread solutions
Research and develop software technology and/or products for Boeing Digital Thread implementation
What we're looking for
Student status
Previous Python experience - professional or from studies
Fluent in both verbal and written English
Must be legally able to work in Spain
Nice to have
Background in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
Experience with container orchestration, such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab CI or equivalent
Experience with a data orchestration framework, such as Airflow or similar
Experience building and deploying multi-service architectures, including reverse proxies and auth gateways
Aerospace engineering exposure or familiarity with digital engineering environments is a plus
Experience working in agile environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with a diverse engineering team
Intrinsic aptitude for taking initiative
Ability to take ownership of work activities

Boeing Global Technology - Europe is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Digital Thread Orchestration to support our team in Madrid, Spain. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers supporting software development and digital thread implementation activities within a digital engineering environment.
As an intern, you will assist with the development and maintenance of Python-based data orchestration pipelines that extract, transform, and load engineering data across multiple tools. You will also help containerize services and manage deployments on OpenShift/Kubernetes via GitLab CI/CD, while collaborating with domain engineers to translate requirements into working integrations for Digital Thread solutions.
This role is a great opportunity for a student who is eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful engineering work that supports Boeing programs. Candidates should be dependable, curious, and willing to take initiative while building technical and professional skills.
