The HEMA Lead Spain &Portugal leadsHealth Economics & Market Access (HEMA) strategy and execution for DePuy Synthes Spain and Portugal, ensuringoptimalreimbursement, access, and adoption of innovativeorthopaedicsolutions. The role is accountable for shaping value‑based access strategies, engaging key external stakeholders, and enabling sustainable business performance aligned with country and EMEA priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute HEMA strategy for Spain and Portugal aligned with DePuy Synthes and EMEA priorities.

• Develop and deliver market access and fundingstrategies toenable adoption and sustainable growth.

• Build andmaintainstrategic relationships with payers, HTA bodies, institutional decision-makersand relevant authorities to shape the external environment and advance value-based adoption.

• Lead EMEA-aligned evidence generation and value creationactivities andtranslate insights into local value messages,toolsand materials.

• Partner cross-functionallywith Marketing, Sales, Medical/Clinical and Regulatory teams to develop and execute market access and reimbursement strategies across the product lifecycle.

• Navigate centralized and regional access dynamics across Spain and Portugal, including hospital- and region-based decision pathways,support access optimization within regional healthcare systems, institutions, and tender environments.

• Ensure effective deployment of health economic tools, valueassetsand training to enable internal stakeholders and strengthen field activation.

• Monitor execution against HEMA priorities and businessobjectives, ensuring alignment to agreed plans,milestonesand governance expectations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable quality,ethicsand local regulatory requirements, consistent with EMEA HEMA standards.

• This role may take on direct responsibility for a priority and strategic business at EMEA regional level, defined according to EMEA needs, ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities and performanceobjectives.

Scope & Impact

Full strategic responsibility for HEMA outcomes inSpain and Portugal, with high autonomy and direct impact on access success, innovation adoption, and revenue sustainability. This rolemayalsoholdsdirect responsibility fora priorityand strategic business at EMEAregional level (defined according to EMEA needs), ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities, performanceobjectives, and value delivery expectations.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master'sor PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Public Health, LifeSciencesor related field.
7+ years of experience in Market Access or HEMA roles, preferably within MedTech or Pharmaceuticals.
Proven experience within theSpanish and/or Portuguesreimbursement environment.
Fluent in Englishand in locallanguage

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
