About the role

Zenova is an innovative tech scale-up based in Madrid that is revolutionizing the way large companies and real estate groups manage their energy. We are the all-in-one energy management software for large clients.

Our SaaS platform simplifies and automates complex processes such as utility registrations, invoice management, document management, consumption optimization, and energy reporting, helping our clients operate more efficiently, transparently, and digitally.

We are now looking to bring on a Junior Full Stack Engineer to join the Residential Product squad, helping us build the internal tools that make the day-to-day residential business operations possible.

We are looking for someone with technical curiosity, a desire to learn, and a drive to build software with real impact, within a fast-growing B2B SaaS company.

What you'll do

You will join the Residential Product squad, a small, autonomous team that builds the internal tools that keep residential operations running day to day.

You won't just be executing tickets. You'll be understanding real problems, proposing solutions, and building them end to end. You'll have business context from day one, and your work will have a direct impact on how the team operates.

  • Develop end-to-end features in internal products, contributing to both backend and frontend.

  • Maintain and evolve integrations with CRM tools and internal operating systems.

  • Explore and implement automations and integrations with AI tools to improve the team's workflows.

  • Collaborate with residential teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Clearly document what you build so the team can maintain and evolve it.

What we're looking for

  • Ability to program in at least one backend language (Java, .NET, Python, Node... whichever it is, but you should genuinely know it).

  • Frontend knowledge: HTML, some CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript. You don't need to be an expert, but you shouldn't be afraid to work on the frontend.

  • Basic SQL skills: being able to write queries, understand how tables relate, and not be intimidated by a database.

  • Ability to consume and design REST APIs.

  • Strong communication skills with non-technical people: part of the job is understanding what the business team needs and turning it into something buildable.

  • Curiosity and a desire to learn. We'll teach you the stack; the attitude is on you.

Nice to have

  • Some exposure to Java/Spring Boot, .NET, or Angular, even if only in personal or academic projects.

  • Experience using AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude...) as part of your regular workflow.

  • Some knowledge of process or workflow automation with tools like n8n, Make, or similar.

  • Experience working in a startup or product environment, even if only through internships.

What you'll get

  • Hybrid model: 2 days in the office. Fully remote during summer, Christmas, and Easter.

  • Flexible hours with a core window from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Short working day on Fridays.

  • 26 days of vacation.

  • Private health insurance.

  • Flexible compensation: restaurant tickets, childcare vouchers, and more.

  • Welcome pack.

  • Team events: Zenova Days and a monthly "Crazy Thursday".

  • Coffee, fruit, and snacks at the office.

How you'll work

You'll be part of a small squad where product and engineering work very closely with the business. Here you won't find an organization where product decides and development just executes: you're expected to take part in decisions, challenge things that don't make sense, and propose alternatives.

We'll teach you the stack. What we're looking for is solid programming fundamentals, a genuine enjoyment of building things, and the ability to learn quickly in an environment that's constantly changing.

The model is hybrid, with several days a week in the office. Those days are for building shared context and making better decisions, not for clocking in.

Visa & relocation

The role requires a hybrid presence in Madrid, so we are focusing on candidates based in Spain.

Hiring process

We want to move as quickly as possible. Our goal is to bring someone on board before September, so we can take advantage of the summer as an onboarding period.

  • 01 Cultural interview (HR Director): a conversation about motivations, fit, and expectations.

  • 02 Technical interview with the team: a practical, collaborative session focused on problem-solving. No take-home assignments.

  • 03 Final interview (CPO): ownership, product mindset, and fit with the team's current stage.

Your first month

The first few weeks will be heavily focused on understanding the residential business and how operations work internally. You'll talk to people across different teams, get to know the current products, and identify the most common pain points. After that, you'll integrate into the day-to-day of the technical team to get familiar with the stack, the architecture, and the way we work. The goal is not for you to produce code from day one, but to truly understand the context before you start building.

WHAT DO WE ASK FOR?

We're looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience who wants to grow in a real product environment. We don't expect you to master our stack: we expect you to have strong fundamentals, learn fast, and enjoy solving problems.

You'll most likely need Spanish to apply. This job was automatically translated to English, .
