As a Cost Controller, you will play a key role in the financial planning, monitoring, and control of our resort, ensuring efficient and profitable operations aligned with the excellence standards of Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include...

• Supporting and contributing to the resort's financial planning and strategic decision-making processes.

• Analysing financial data, market trends, and performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and business growth.

• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.

• Monitoring and analysing actual financial results against forecasts and budgets, providing recommendations to maximise profitability.

• Developing initiatives to optimise costs, improve margins, and strengthen the property's return on investment.

• Maintaining effective financial controls and procedures to mitigate business risks.

• Collaborating closely with the Finance and Accounting team to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.

• Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports in compliance with corporate and legal requirements.

• Monitoring the accuracy of the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, ensuring revenues and costs are properly recorded and allocated.

• Assisting with internal, external, and regulatory audits, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented where necessary.

• Ensuring compliance with all applicable financial, accounting, tax, and legal regulations.

• Preparing financial reports, business analyses, and presentations for senior leadership.

• Supporting the Finance leadership team by providing financial insights and recommendations on operational and business matters.

• Participating in meetings with stakeholders and management teams, providing clear analysis and context regarding financial performance.

• Building effective relationships with key stakeholders while understanding their financial objectives and expectations.

• Ensuring compliance with Marriott International's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOPs).

• Supporting the development of team members through training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

What we're looking for

What we are looking for in you...

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Previous experience in finance, cost control, accounting, or similar financial roles, preferably within the hospitality industry or an international organisation.

• Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, cost control, auditing, and financial reporting.

• The ability to interpret financial information and translate it into meaningful business insights.

• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• The ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to different audiences.

• A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems.

• Fluency in Spanish and English; additional languages will be considered an asset.

• A valid work permit for Spain.
