About the role

At Sener Aerospace and Defense, we offer an internship where the selected candidate will join our HW development team for Test Equipment (EGSEs) within our Electromechanical Systems (SEM) division in Madrid (Tres Cantos).

What you'll do

You will be part of the multidisciplinary team (hardware, software, and mechanics) that develops the equipment used to test the control electronics and mechanisms of antenna pointing systems, robotic couplings and anchors, telescope focusing and scanning systems, among others. Carrying out the following tasks:

  • Collaborate on the analysis and requirements of the equipment.

  • Design equipment at rack, subrack, or box level.

  • You will collaborate on the design of electronic boards for communication, motor control, and sensor acquisition.

  • Help maintain existing HW, adding new functionalities and providing support in the event of failures.

  • Commission and validate HW and test equipment for certification or production campaigns.

  • Collaborate on electronic design at schematic level and support PCB placement and routing activities.

  • Analog and digital simulations.

What we expect from you

  • Training in electronic, industrial, or telecommunications engineering and the ability to sign a collaboration agreement with the university.

  • Advanced level of English.

  • Knowledge in the following areas will be valued:

    • Actuators and sensors.

    • Motor control design.

    • Knowledge of closed-loop control design and analysis (Matlab/Simulink).

    • Commercial I/O and acquisition boards.

    • Calibration of measuring instruments.

    • Knowledge of microprocessor and FPGA development environments.

    • Knowledge of standards (ECSS, IPC, MIL,…).

    • PCB design knowledge.
