About the role

Amazon's Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is crucial to our operations, as it is responsible for keeping essential machinery running continuously. As a maintenance technician, you will inspect a wide variety of machinery and workspaces, always ensuring good health and safety practices. You will help protect team members and prevent operational interruptions. Our reliability and maintenance technicians multiply the availability and quality of our machinery, as well as improve the operational environment.

A day in the life

Our reliability and maintenance technicians work on-site at our facilities, allowing them to respond quickly to any machinery issues that arise. You will be responsible for the planned preventive maintenance of our facility equipment to ensure they operate safely. As a reliability and maintenance engineering technician, you will also need to react quickly to any faults, investigating, identifying, and applying solutions as soon as possible. You will also propose long-term improvements.

You will handle daily maintenance tasks, such as painting and plumbing, alongside senior team members, and contact contractors if external help is needed. You will work on various shifts to ensure our facilities have 24/7 support, allowing Amazon to maintain its usual delivery speed.

What you'll do

Key job responsibilities

Perform proactive and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide variety of equipment.
Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnostics in an operational distribution center.
Use the most modern tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
Comply with all health and safety policies and practices.
Contribute to the development and training of apprentices.
Work on continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across various EU sites.

What we're looking for

Experience in scheduled preventive maintenance systems
Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance tasks.
Experience in troubleshooting MHE (Material Handling Equipment) /Automation systems.
Advanced level of Spanish, both oral and written.

Nice to have

Desirable requirements are a plus but are not mandatory to apply for the position. If you meet the basic requirements mentioned, we would love to meet you.
Experience in condition-based monitoring.
Experience in handling printing and labeling machines.
Experience in fault detection and maintenance of transport or automation systems.

Our work includes maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment across our global network of distribution centers. The team includes a range of management profiles responsible for overseeing the development of fascinating technologies, some of which exist only at Amazon.

Our team handles most of Amazon's technical aspects, performing tasks ranging from installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance or repairing key distribution equipment. This includes adapting buildings to current legislation so that all staff are safe and our facilities operate as efficiently as possible. The RME team, as in other Amazon departments, offers numerous opportunities for professional growth.

All our work revolves around reducing downtime at Amazon's crucial operational sites so customers receive their orders on time. We often work in the early morning or late at night to carry out maintenance tasks with minimal disruption, which is why we work night shifts. If we discover there is a better way of doing something, we have the capability and the opportunity to develop and introduce entirely new processes or cutting-edge technology, such as Amazon Robotics and our complex-item sorter.

A day in the life

Nuestros/as técnicos/as de mantenimiento y fiabilidad trabajan sobre el terreno en nuestros centros, lo que les permite responder rápidamente ante cualquier problema que surja con la maquinaria. Te encargarás del mantenimiento preventivo planificado de los equipos de nuestras instalaciones para garantizar que funcionen con seguridad. Como técnico/a de ingeniería de mantenimiento y fiabilidad, también deberás reaccionar con celeridad ante cualquier avería, investigando, identificando y aplicando soluciones lo antes posible. También propondrás mejoras a largo plazo.

Te encargarás de las tareas diarias de mantenimiento, como pintura y fontanería, codo con codo con los miembros sénior de tu equipo, y te pondrás en contacto con contratistas si hace falta ayuda externa. Trabajarás en distintos turnos para garantizar que nuestros centros cuentan con un servicio de asistencia las 24 horas del día, lo que permitirá a Amazon realizar sus entregas a la velocidad acostumbrada.

Nivel avanzado de español, tanto oral como escrito.
