Job Description:

JOB MISSION: Design, develop and optimize power electronics hardware for high-performance energy conversion systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, thermal, EMC, reliability, and cost requirements throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop power electronics hardware for energy conversion systems.
  • Define hardware architecture, schematics, and component selection based on technical and product requirements.
  • Design power stages, gate driver circuits, protection circuits, auxiliary power supplies, and control interfaces.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, magnetic, and reliability calculations and simulations to optimize hardware performance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, calculations, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds, pilot production, and product industrialization.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware failures through root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support product certification activities in accordance with IEC, UL, CE, and other applicable international standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality) to support product development.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Usual/Daily

  • Design and develop power electronics hardware, including schematics, power stages, gate drivers, and auxiliary circuits.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, and magnetic calculations and simulations to optimize hardware performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, calculations, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Execute laboratory verification and troubleshooting, including functional, thermal, EMC, and reliability testing, and perform root cause analysis of hardware issues

Periodic/Occasional

  • Support to other departments.
  • Analysis and testing at customer facilities in cases of support to other departments, or for U-TI Design projects.
  • Support product certification and supplier activities, including technical reviews, component qualification, prototype builds, and compliance with IEC, UL, and CE standards.

Required Qualification & Experience

University degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Preferred profile: Industrial Engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

0-3 Years of experience.

Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken), other European languages are a plus.
