About the role

We are looking for Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operators (Safety Drivers) to support testing, validation, commercial deployment, and scaling of autonomous vehicle fleets and robotaxis in Europe.

As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator, you will play a key role in the safe operation of autonomous vehicles and self-driving vehicles during testing programs, pilots, and commercial autonomous ride-hailing services. Working alongside engineering, fleet operations, and depot operations teams, you will monitor vehicle behavior, apply operational procedures, and intervene manually when necessary.

No prior experience with autonomous vehicles is required. Full training will be provided on autonomous driving systems, operational procedures, and safety protocols. We are looking for experienced, responsible, and attentive drivers with excellent situational awareness and a strong interest in the future of autonomous mobility.

This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced autonomous vehicle technology, support robotaxi launches, AV fleet expansion, and commercial autonomous transportation operations in several European cities.

What you'll do

  • Drive, monitor, and supervise autonomous vehicles during testing, validation, and commercial robotaxi fleet operations.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of the self-driving system while maintaining full awareness of surrounding traffic conditions.
  • Take manual control of the vehicle immediately when required by operational procedures or safety protocols.
  • Complete assigned routes in compliance with local traffic laws and company procedures.
  • Support the successful deployment of autonomous ride-hailing services through safe, consistent, and compliant driving.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure each autonomous vehicle is ready for deployment.
  • Check vehicle cleanliness and inspect cameras, sensors, mirrors, lights, and other critical systems before each shift.
  • Report any damage, abnormal vehicle behavior, or maintenance needs to depot and technical teams.
  • Support operational fleet availability by ensuring vehicles remain ready for daily operations.
  • Record disengagements, observations, and operational events in reporting tools.
  • Provide clear, structured feedback on vehicle behavior, traffic conditions, and unusual scenarios encountered during testing or commercial operations.
  • Assist engineering teams in documenting situations useful for improving autonomous driving systems.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs and complete all required documentation.
  • Follow all operational procedures, safety protocols, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and safety refreshers.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor during interactions with the public while operating autonomous vehicles and robotaxis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of autonomous fleet operations.

What we're looking for

  • Valid European driver's license.
  • Minimum 5 years of driving experience.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Ability to pass a background check (BGV / background verification).
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening before hiring and on a random basis.
  • Excellent situational awareness, defensive driving skills, and quick decision-making.
  • Comfortable with extended driving in urban and highway environments.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures with high rigor.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Upper-intermediate level of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience as a professional driver, chauffeur, fleet driver, ride-hailing driver, or vehicle tester.
  • Experience in automotive testing, ADAS validation, mapping, data collection, or fleet operations.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicles (EVs).
  • Experience working in shift-based environments with extended or irregular hours.

What you'll get

  • Opportunity to work on some of the most advanced autonomous vehicle and robotaxi programs in Europe.
  • Comprehensive training on autonomous driving systems and operational procedures.
  • Long-term career prospects in the rapidly growing autonomous mobility sector.
  • Exposure to robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous transportation technologies.
  • International projects supporting robotaxi launches, new urban deployments, and fleet scaling across Europe.
  • Collaborative environment with engineering, operations, and technical specialist teams developing the future of autonomous ride-hailing.

Required profile

Successful safety operators remain calm under pressure, are highly observant, and are committed to safety. They embrace emerging technologies and understand the importance of consistency, precision, and adherence to procedures in autonomous vehicle deployment and robotaxi fleet operations.

No prior experience with autonomous vehicles is required: our training program will prepare you to safely support testing, deployment, and commercial operation of self-driving vehicles.
