Responsibilities and duties of the position

  • Monitor and record residents' vital signs and weight, carrying out clinical follow-up together with the auxiliary team.
  • Administer medication prescribed by the medical team, coordinating preparation and distribution with auxiliary healthcare or pharmacy staff, and supervising correct intake together with nursing assistants and geriatric aides.
  • Apply topical treatments, perform dressings and nursing techniques, such as cannulation of lines, placement and replacement of probes or ostomy bags, blood glucose monitoring, and administration of medication via subcutaneous, intravenous, or intramuscular routes.
  • Detect and act on potential medical emergencies, applying established protocols and mobilizing the necessary resources effectively and safely.
