The Risk or Pre-purchased Seats Manager is the person responsible for comprehensively managing the air seats acquired in advance by the Tour Operator. Their main mission is to optimize occupancy, maximize the economic performance of the seats, and ensure that daily operations flow smoothly between the product and internal systems.


This is a strategic and operational role, key to controlling seat stock, dynamically adjusting prices, avoiding losses from unused seats, and providing internal support regarding seat availability.

Main duties and requirements.

Main responsibilities

1. Seat stock management

  • Daily control of the pre-purchased seat stock by route, date, and transport company.
  • Updating availability in internal systems (quotas, allotments, releases).
  • Identifying excess or shortfall of seats to make quick commercial decisions.

2. Occupancy optimization and analysis

  • Monitoring occupancy trends.
  • Proposing actions to optimize sales (partial quota release, reassignments, upselling, route combinations…).
  • Tracking KPIs such as: occupancy, average cost per seat, revenue per seat, outstanding risk.

3. Dynamic pricing management

  • Adjusting rates according to demand, occupancy, and commercial strategy.
  • Coordinating with Product/Scheduling to define strategies.
  • Proposing promotional campaigns or sales closures based on stock trends.

4. Internal coordination

  • Constant communication with the Product department (packaging, availability, rates) and the Transport contracting departments.
  • Supporting reservations with queries on real availability and quota movements.

6. Administrative control and reporting

  • Financial monitoring of the performance of acquired quotas.
  • Periodic reports: occupancy vs. forecast, financial risk, achieved margin.

Job requirements

- Previous experience in air quota / pre-purchased seats management.

- Use of GDS (Amadeus, Sabre, etc.).

- Solid knowledge of tour operations.

- Numerical and analytical skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic environments.

- Revenue Management or airline revenue management in tour operators or agencies.
