About the role

At idealista, we are looking for an Android Product Engineer to join our technology team.

If you like working close to the product, understanding why we do what we do before building it, and moving comfortably between technical and non-technical profiles, keep reading.

What you'll do

What will you do?

You will work as part of a product journey, with real responsibility over the features in your area: from understanding the problem with PM and UX to seeing it in the hands of users.

You will use AI tools regularly in your workflow: from speeding up development tasks to improving the quality of what you deliver.

You will also have bugs, legacy code and tough technical decisions. That doesn't change.

What we're looking for

What do we expect from you?

This is what matters most to us:

You have real experience working in a product-oriented environment: you have taken part in decisions, not just execution.

You communicate well: with teammates, with PMs, with QA, with UX. You ask, explain, escalate when needed, and you do it in a way that people understand and trust.

You can manage several fronts at once without losing context: you know how to prioritise, ask for help when appropriate and keep visibility over what you have in progress.

You use AI naturally in your day-to-day, not as an experiment: to develop faster, review code, explore alternatives, document, or whatever you find useful in your workflow.

You have your own judgement: you don't just execute what you're told, you also propose, question and defend your arguments.

Technically:

Kotlin is your main language and Android your usual environment.

You know modern Android development best practices and apply them, even if you're not a purist.

You can read and work with legacy code without it paralysing you.

Nice to have

What else is a plus?

An eye for UI and experience working with design systems.

Experience with large-scale multi-module apps.

You have worked with CI/CD pipelines.

You have experience with event tracking (Piano, Tealium).

You're interested in other platforms or disciplines: iOS, backend, data analytics.

You have done something with cross-platform technologies (KMP, React Native).

You understand testing and value it as part of the job, not as a formality.

What you'll get

What do we offer?

You will see the direct impact of your work on one of the leading apps in Spain, as well as in Italy, Portugal and France. For those of you who haven't experienced it yet: you don't know the tingle in your stomach the first time you see something you've built on a platform used by millions of people.

We are Remote Friendly :) but we have offices in central Madrid in case you fancy coming in some days, and in other parts of Spain.

You will learn. We mean it. The platform is constantly evolving, and from that we get loads of internal talks, posts, workshops... that keep knowledge flowing.

Plus... we sponsor events, attend them and host lots of meetups. Learning is just as important as teaching your teammates!

In addition to your salary, you can join a flexible benefits plan (transport card, gourmet vouchers, health insurance...) that you can benefit from from day one.

English, Italian and Portuguese classes.

Fresh fruit and coffee always available in the kitchen.

We also have a physiotherapist and yoga classes... because for us the most important thing is taking care of our idealistas!

Besides working, we like to have fun, so if you join our family, you'll celebrate something every month... Halloween, Valentine's Day, Christmas... You'll have a great time! Teambuilding and much more!
