Professional Experience: Required: 10+ years of experience in satellite electrical design and development (or similar experience), including flight projects.
The position will be tailored to the level of experience and additional industrial experience would be viewed very positively.
Technical Requirements: Required: The following capabilities are required for the position:
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft solar array, battery technologies (Li-ion, advanced chemistries), and power electronics.
• Experience with regulated/unregulated power buses and peak power tracking (PPT/MMPT).
• Familiarity with industry standards (ECSS, MIL-STD, NASA standards).
• Proficiency with system analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Altium,).
• Proven track record of leading system design through full lifecycle (from concept to launch).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to coordinate across engineering domains.
• Familiar with AIT campaigns with Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
• Practical experience in aeronautical/aerospace sector especially on Electrical architecture (experience in ESA/European programmes is welcome)
• Capacity to understand new concepts and apply them to engineering problems.
• Familiar with EGSE and test environments in C/D satellite project phases.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders
Desired: Experience in some of the following fields is desired but not indispensable:
• Experience with harness derating for space systems.
• Experience with cross strapping for space systems.
• Understanding of spacecraft power management.
• Experience in Space HW design focused on filters and power input.
• Experience in HW AIT/AIV (or in general "hands on HW"), in V&V cycle, and knowledge of Real Time Environment (e.g. dSpace, Speedgoat, etc.) are a plus.
