About the role

At Sener Aerospace and Defense, we design systems that operate where almost nothing else can: in space, in extreme environments, and on missions where reliability is not an option.

We do not work in isolated disciplines.

We work by integrating mechanics, thermal engineering, electronics, and systems from the very first concept through to flight.

We are looking for a Mechanical-Thermal Engineer to take part in the development of new aerospace systems, from the early design phases through to validation and flight.

This is a role where it is not just about calculations, but about understanding the complete system and making decisions that truly impact the final product.

This person will lead and coordinate the mechanical and thermal design of these systems, as well as their application to the creation of revolutionary communications systems for UAVs, satellites, and highly maneuverable platforms, from initial concept through to implementation.

You will work on projects where:

  • Thermal conditions are critical to the mission.

  • Solutions must operate in vacuum, vibration, and extreme thermal cycles.

  • Mechanical and thermal design cannot be separated from the rest of the system.

What you'll do

You will be part of multidisciplinary teams working on the development of space and defense systems, participating in:

1. Requirements Analysis: Exploring and understanding the mechanical needs of systems in complex environments. Translating platform requirements into requirements for each element of the communications system configuration.

2. Mechanical System Design, Sizing, and Simulation: Creating optimal mechanical designs: sizing and simulating advanced mechanical solutions that meet the requirements of the various platforms. Specifically:

· Simulation of stresses, moments of inertia, static moments, deflections, and torsional stresses.

· Performing thermal distribution analyses and solutions.

· Designing supports and mechanical routing in CAD tools.

· Generating/supervising manufacturing drawings.

3. Exploration of New Technologies: Researching and investigating new technologies for thermal dissipation, environmental protection, and additive manufacturing.

4. Hardware Design Support: Collaborating with communications systems design teams to create the best solutions by combining system performance and mechanical engineering.

5. Integration, Testing, and Commissioning Support: Actively participating in integration and testing, ensuring the successful deployment of next-generation systems. Managing mechanical-related subcontracts.

What you'll get

These are some of the benefits you will enjoy at Sener:

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in innovative, high-tech international projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary and highly qualified team.

  • You will enjoy better management of your time through our flexible working hours and remote work policies.

  • You can optimize your salary with our flexible compensation plan (meal card, private health insurance, childcare vouchers...) and you will have life and accident insurance.

  • We will take care of you with our physical and emotional well-being program, which includes sports, workshops, etc.

  • We will boost your professional development with technical, skills, and language training, etc., so you can keep growing and achieving your goals.

  • We promote equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusion for all people, and we are certified as a Family-Responsible Entity (efr).

If you identify with our values and want to join a leading international family-owned engineering firm, we look forward to meeting you! We want to go as far as you want to go.

What we expect from you:

  • We are looking for engineers with a solid technical foundation and, above all, a systems mindset:

    • Education in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

    • Experience in:

      • structural or thermal analysis

      • FEM modeling

      • design of equipment or subsystems

    • Knowledge of tools such as: NX / Nastran / Ansys / TMG / Thermal Desktop (or equivalents).

    • Advanced level of English.
