We are currently looking to incorporate a HV/MV Installations Technician - Specialist in Medium and High Voltage in Madrid, who shares our commitment to quality, responsibility, and excellent service.

What you'll do

  • Design and review of HV and MV systems.

  • Coordination with electrical utilities and network operators.

  • Technical review of:

    • AIS/GIS substations; Power transformers

    • GIS and AIS switchgear; Protection and control systems

    • HV connection lines

    • Interior MV networks

    • Metering and billing systems.

  • Development and review of: Single Line Diagrams; Protection Philosophy; Load Flow Studies; Short Circuit Studies; Relay Coordination Studies; Earthing Studies; Arc Flash Studies.

  • Definition of operation and maintenance criteria.

  • Technical support for procurement and evaluation of technical bids.

  • Coordination with HV equipment manufacturers.

  • Follow-up of FAT, SAT, and commissioning.

Technical validation of the commissioning of HV/MV systems.

Management of risks associated with energization and operation.

Support in resolving technical issues during construction and start-up.

Job functions and responsibilities

We are looking for a profile with the following requirements and competencies:

  • Electrical or Industrial Engineering specialized in electrical power systems.

  • Minimum relevant experience in MV/HV systems.

  • Experience in substations and electrical distribution networks.

  • Experience in critical infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of IEC, IEEE regulations and applicable international standards.

  • Ability to interact with utilities and network operators

  • Valuable technical knowledge:

    • HV and MV systems.

    • GIS and AIS substations.

    • Power transformers.

    • Protection and control.

    • SCADA systems.

    • Electrical studies using ETAP, DigSilent PowerFactory or equivalent.

    • Grounding systems.

    • Power quality.

    • Energization and acceptance testing.

    • IEC, IEEE and ENA regulations.

    • English C1.

  • Required/valuable experience:

    • Design or review of HV/MV substations.

    • Electrical studies of power systems.

    • Participation in FAT, SAT and energization.

    • Coordination with electrical utilities.

    • Participation in heavy industry or critical infrastructure projects.
