What you'll do

Among the duties you will carry out with us, the following stand out:

  • Develop the project commissioning plan (strategy, milestones, resources, schedule).

  • Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, engineering, quality, HSE, and O&M

  • Align commissioning with the overall project planning and contractual requirements.

  • Supervise and/or execute: inverter tests, string tests, transformer center and substation tests; protection tests, SCADA and communications tests; and progressive energization and grid synchronization.

  • Supervise and/or execute: low-voltage cabling tests (continuity, phase sequence, insulation resistance); medium and high-voltage cabling tests (continuity, phase sequence, insulation rigidity, sheath resistance, VLF and/or partial discharges); fiber optic tests (OLTS, OTDR); grounding grid tests (continuity, earth resistance, step and touch voltage); thermography of electrical panels and PV modules; IV curves and electroluminescence.

  • Coordinate the involvement of manufacturers and subcontractors during testing.

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with: Italian regulations (CEI, Terna, local distribution companies); grid operator requirements and connection permits; and quality, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Validate test protocols, checklists, and procedures.

  • Prepare, compile, and approve: commissioning reports; punch lists and resolution of issues; and "as built" and handover documentation to O&M.

  • Support the PAC / FAC / COD process as per contract.

  • Identify technical or planning deviations.

  • Propose and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Provide technical support during the final construction phase.

  • Act as the technical point of contact for the client and the Project Manager.

  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE during commissioning. Knowledge of LOTO procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Renewable Energy Engineering or similar. Specific training in high/medium voltage is a plus.

  • 5–8 years of experience in renewable energy EPC projects. Proven experience in commissioning utility-scale PV plants.

  • Experience in Italy or international projects is a plus.

  • Technical knowledge: PV systems, inverters, transformer centers, substations, protections; SCADA and communications; reading single-line diagrams and three-line diagrams; Italian regulations (CEI, Terna, DSO); and commissioning and energization procedures.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions.

  • Italian: professional level (desirable), English: advanced level (international environment), and Spanish is a plus.
