We do not manage a closed catalog of projects: the portfolio evolves with the market. We work across strategic areas that today are structured around, among others:

Digital Sovereignty: ensuring that our cloud, data, and AI solutions offer European control, residency, and compliance as an inherent attribute, not as an add-on.

AI Gigafactory: enabling the infrastructure and service models that support the new wave of large-scale artificial intelligence.

Emerging technologies: exploring and validating the next opportunities—physical AI, edge, advanced computing...—before they become a market.

You will lead a high-impact team and a dynamic portfolio, with the mission of orchestrating these strategic projects and translating a vision of the future into real execution.

Who are we looking for?

As Head of Strategic Projects, your role will not be linear, but rather a dynamic combination of three dimensions: project leadership, cross-functional orchestration, and technological vision.

Orchestrating cross-functional projects (the core of the role)

You will be the "glue" of the organization: you will coordinate internal areas—Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, IoT, other Telefónica areas—alongside partners and clients.

You will ensure that projects move forward without silos: managed dependencies, aligned deliverables, and a common language—the language of client value.

Providing vision and direction to the portfolio (space for long-term thinking)

You will anticipate trends in cloud technologies, AI, sovereignty, and new technologies, and translate them into the evolution of our offering.

You will guide the evolution of the portfolio and represent initiatives before management, partners, and institutions.

In short: a constant balance between strategic vision (where technology is heading) and execution through the team (making things happen). You are not coming to execute a fixed plan: you are coming to lead a portfolio that reinvents itself with the market.

Experience

Experience

+10 years of experience in strategic project management, business development, or technology consulting, preferably in the IT sector.

Experience leading and developing teams.

Experience in stakeholder management and in multidisciplinary, cross-functional environments.

What we need you to know

Cloud: cloud architectures, service models, and large-scale computing and AI infrastructure.

AI: fundamentals of artificial intelligence and generative AI platforms and services, as well as training and inference infrastructure, with an understanding of their deployment patterns and their application to business.

Cybersecurity, IoT: an understanding of the technology services catalog in these domains and their lifecycle.

New technologies: the ability to anticipate and evaluate emerging technologies and turn them into business opportunities.

Project and team management: methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall), cross-functional coordination, and people leadership.

Academic training

University degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Industrial), Business Administration, Economics, or similar.

Como Head of Strategic Projects, tu jornada no será lineal, sino una combinación dinámica de tres dimensiones: liderazgo de los proyectos, orquestación transversal y visión tecnológica.

Orquestar proyectos transversales (el corazón de la jornada)

Serás el "pegamento" de la organización: coordinarás áreas internas -Cloud, Ciberseguridad, Data & IA, IoT, otras áreas de Telefonica- junto con partners y clientes.

Asegurarás que los proyectos avancen sin silos: dependencias gestionadas, entregas alineadas y un mismo idioma, el del valor para el cliente.

Aportar visión y dirección al portfolio (espacio para pensar a largo plazo)

Anticiparás tendencias en tecnologías cloud, IA, soberanía y nuevas tecnologías, y las trasladarás a la evolución de nuestra oferta.

Guiarás la evolución del portfolio y representarás las iniciativas ante dirección, partners e instituciones.

En resumen: un equilibrio constante entre la visión estratégica (hacia dónde va la tecnología) y la ejecución a través del equipo (que las cosas sucedan). No vienes a ejecutar un plan cerrado: vienes a liderar un portfolio que se reinventa con el mercado.

+10 años de experiencia en gestión de proyectos estratégicos, desarrollo de negocio o consultoría tecnológica, preferiblemente en el sector IT.

Experiencia liderando y desarrollando equipos.

Experiencia en la gestión de stakeholders y en entornos multidisciplinares y transversales.

Lo que necesitamos que conozcas

Cloud: arquitecturas cloud, modelos de servicio e infraestructura de cómputo e IA a gran escala.

IA: fundamentos de inteligencia artificial e IA generativa plataformas y servicios de IA, e infraestructura de entrenamiento e inferencia, con visión de sus patrones de despliegue y de su aplicación al negocio.

Ciberseguridad, IoT: visión del catálogo de servicios tecnológicos en estos dominios y de su ciclo de vida.

Nuevas tecnologías: capacidad de anticipar y evaluar tecnologías emergentes y traducirlas en oportunidades de negocio.

Gestión de proyectos y equipos: metodologías (Agile, Scrum o Waterfall), coordinación transversal y liderazgo de personas.
