About the role

Zenova is a tech scale-up based in Madrid that is revolutionizing the way large companies and real estate groups manage their energy. We are an all-in-one energy management software for large clients and we are in full growth mode.

We are looking to bring a People Operations Intern onto our HR team.

The position starts with a 4–6 month internship, designed as a learning and development stage, with the goal that, upon completion and if there is a good fit on both sides, you can join the team as a Junior People Operations Specialist.

We don't expect you to know everything when you arrive. We are looking for a curious, organized, and resourceful person who is eager to learn how HR works from within a scale-up and grow professionally with us.

What you'll do

You will be part of a small People team that is very close to the business, working directly with the HR manager and with managers from all areas.

During the internship you will gain a very cross-functional view of HR: recruitment, onboarding, performance, data, processes, benefits, culture, and employee experience.

The first few weeks will be focused on understanding Zenova, getting to know the team, and familiarizing yourself with our tools and processes.

As you learn, you will begin to take on tasks and processes with greater autonomy, with the goal that by the end of the internship you will be ready to make the leap to a Junior position within the team.

Nice to have

You have had some initial experience in a startup or in HR, you know tools like Factorial or an ATS, you have knowledge of labor law, or you are especially interested in automation and process improvement.

What you'll get

  • 4–6 month internship, with a learning and development plan.

  • Real possibility of joining as a Junior People Operations Specialist after the internship.

  • Hybrid model: 3 days a week at our Madrid office (Cuzco metro station).

  • Full remote work during summer, Christmas, and Easter.

  • Flexible hours and early finish on Fridays.

  • Training and direct support from the HR manager.

  • Real participation in team projects and processes from day one.

  • Welcome pack, events, and team activities.

  • Coffee, fruit, and snacks at the office.

Our goal is not for you to come for a few months just to "do an internship." We want you to learn, gain autonomy, and build your career in People with us.

About the company & team

HR/ADMINISTRATION

Hiring process

We want the process to be agile and transparent, and for you to also have the space to get to know us and decide whether Zenova is the place where you want to grow.

01. Interview with People

A first conversation to get to know each other, understand your motivations, why you are interested in People/HR, what you are looking for in your next stage, and to tell you in detail about the project and the role.

02. Practical interview

We will work together on a small case inspired by real situations from the team.

We are not looking for a perfect answer. We want to understand how you think, how you structure a problem, and how you arrive at a solution.

03. Final interview

A final conversation to get to know each other better and ensure there is a good fit on both sides.

Your first month

Your first few weeks will be heavily focused on understanding Zenova.

You will learn how the company is structured, who does what, how the different teams work, and what the main people-related pain points are.

You will become familiar with Factorial, our recruitment, onboarding, performance, and People Operations processes, understanding what we already have automated and where we still have manual processes.

By the end of your first month, you should have a fairly complete picture of how Zenova works, what our main people processes are, and where the opportunities for improvement lie.

From there, you will progressively begin to take ownership of processes, spot inefficiencies, and propose improvements and automations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

People Operations

  • Support day-to-day HR management: onboarding, offboarding, documentation, and updating information in Factorial.

  • Participate in onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Manage social benefits and collaborate on tasks related to health and safety (PRL) and personnel administration.

Talent & Hiring

  • Participate in recruitment processes: posting job openings, screening, contacting candidates, and coordinating interviews.

  • Help keep our hiring processes organized and take care of the candidate experience.

Performance & People Data

  • Support performance review cycles and report preparation.

  • Work with Excel/Google Sheets and Factorial to organize and analyze information.

  • Help us identify processes we can simplify or automate.

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Participate in organizing events, internal communications, and culture initiatives.

  • Support employer branding and employee experience initiatives.

In short, you will have a very complete view of how an HR department works in a scale-up and you will be able to discover which areas you want to specialize in as you grow with us.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone at the start of their career, with an interest in developing in People/HR.

For us, the most important things are:

  • Curiosity and a strong desire to learn.

  • Being an organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented person.

  • Good communication skills and ease working with people.

  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and an aptitude for learning digital tools.

  • Initiative to ask questions, propose ideas, and look for ways to do things better.

  • Ability to formalize an internship agreement with a university or educational institution.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

If you want to start your career in People, you like working with people but also with processes and data, you are the kind of person who asks "how can we do this better?" and you want to learn from the inside how a scale-up grows, we want to meet you.

We are not looking for experience. We are looking for potential, curiosity, and a desire to learn. We can build the rest together.
