About the role

Role Purpose:

Together with the Manager of the purchasing area, he/she will be responsible for defining the Organization's Transport purchasing policy, ensuring compliance with the Company's objectives in the transport area in accordance with the company's global strategy.

What you'll do

Main Accountabilities:

  • Help define the supplier policy: Type of supplier to work with by geographic area, by business and by type of means used (Refrigerated, Ambient, ADR, Last mile) and collaboration model (Dedicated Trucks-CT, Round trip, Single routes). The aim is to structure flows with the most suitable partners in terms of cost, service capacity, and ability to integrate into DHL processes (Track & trace, Information and connectivity, invoicing, document management, service levels in terms of availability and punctuality, safety standards, insurance...).
  • Negotiate and sign medium- and long-term agreements and commitments with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier agreements and service levels to customers.
  • Collaborate in designing collaboration solutions for each flow: Analyze volumes per flow and seek alternatives and supplier types. Identify the ideal mix in each flow: Dedicated vehicles-CT, contracting in one direction, closed circuits with a complete view of the Company's flows.
  • Ensure profitability in each flow with each customer. Ensure that the cost in each flow is appropriate to the market benchmark (tenders we win or price levels at which we fail to secure business because we cannot reach our customers' target price).
  • Manage the relationship with each partner under a QBR model, KPI tracking, volume planning, and improvement projects. Seek flexibility mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with operations, KAM, and Business Development Manager in preparing commercial proposals regarding reference transport costs.
  • Contribute to the communication and implementation process of the specific procedures and processes derived from the implementation of the Integrated Environmental Management and Energy Efficiency System.
  • Contribute to achieving environmental objectives by following the policies and guidelines set by the organization.
