Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or equivalent quantitative/technical discipline.
- 4+ years in an innovation, digital, technology, AI, or data-focused role within a corporate or consulting environment.
- 2+ years working directly with transport technologies and infrastructure - e.g., C-ITS, tolling systems (open-road/all-electronic tolling, interoperability standards), traffic management systems or C-V2X/V2X connected-vehicle platforms.
- Working knowledge of mobility data standards and formats relevant to analytics and system integration.
- Practical, hands-on fluency with AI tools beyond consumer chat interfaces - e.g., using LLM APIs or agentic platforms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Copilot Studio) to build structured workflows, using AI-assisted coding for data pipelines or prototypes (Python/SQL preferred), or applying AI to geospatial data/imagery analysis for infra monitoring.
- Demonstrated interest and working knowledge of connected/autonomous mobility, digital tolling, and mobility analytics; able to speak to eco-system, technologies, and where the sector is heading, not just historical context.
- Track record of project delivery with tangible outputs combining self-led technical work (data analysis, prototyping, modelling) and cross-team collaboration.
- Comfort working across corporate, startup, public sector, or innovation-ecosystem, adapting delivery style accordingly.
- Fluent in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Copilot).
- Able to engage credibly with stakeholders at manager/director level.
Desirable
- Experience with Earth Observation data (satellite/SAR imagery, platforms like Google Dynamic World or Sentinel Hub) for infrastructure risk, construction monitoring, or asset management use cases.
- Familiarity with Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) systems and/or dynamic/managed-lane management.
- Experience with advanced comms infrastructure (5G, satellite comms) or IoT sensor networks as applied to transport/infrastructure monitoring.
- Exposure to VR/XR for training, simulation, or stakeholder visualization; or early-stage familiarity with quantum computing applications in optimization/logistics.
- Business development, venturing, or financial modelling experience or formal training.
- International professional experience.

Job Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a junior/mid-level role requiring equal emphasis on self-led technical and analytical delivery and collaborative facilitation across teams, business units, and external partners. The role covers both mobility innovation development and ITS/tolling technical support. AI-augmented working is the default method, not an afterthought.
This position will report to the ITS Lead or directly to the Head of CoE. From time-to-rime, as needed, the role maybe assigned to specific projects that require a more complex matrix management structure.
The working place is as per above, but the role may require travelling during short periods of time to other places nationally or internationally. There might also be opportunity/requirement for 2 - 6 month long secondments in other territories, including the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Unit Partnership
- Partner with BU teams to identify innovation opportunities, co-develop initiatives, and support operational adoption.
- Represent CoE4M in workshops, project briefings, and stakeholder outreach, translating BU needs into requirements.
- Coordinate with wider Ferrovial Innovation team to align initiatives and cross-pollinate findings across business lines.
- Brief stakeholders on initiative status/outcomes as needed; represent Ferrovial at external industry events and forums.
Prototyping & Technical Delivery
- Run hands-on data analysis, technology assessments, and prototypes end-to-end, from concept to proof-of-value.
- Use AI tools/platforms as core working practice for tech dev/integration, modelling and structured deliverables.
- Build business cases (revenue, cost, and risk models) to support scoping and prioritization decisions.
- Scope and coordinate resources (internal & external) where a prototype/initiative requires additional capability.
ITS/Tolling Technical Support
- Provide technical design input, cost estimates, and budget quotes for ITS and tolling supporting bids and concessions.
Market Intelligence & Scouting
- Monitor and synthesize developments in data-driven, automated, and autonomous ITS/Tolling/mobility into insights.
- Evaluate vendors/OEMs/products against defined business priorities; initiate and manage engagement as required.
- Capture knowledge, contacts, and ideas from workshops/events/meetings into written summaries for internal reuse.
- Produce technology briefs, white papers, bid content, and presentation materials from the above intelligence.
Knowledge Sharing
- Contribute findings and outputs to the Ferrovial Innovation Community, ensuring visibility across business lines.
