About the role

What you'll do

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain custom plugins and themes for Moodle.
  • Customize and extend standard Moodle functionality following development best practices.
  • Develop backend services using PHP.
  • Design and implement integrations between Moodle and external systems using REST APIs and web services.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues and errors in applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards.
  • Optimize application performance and database queries.
  • Provide support for Moodle upgrades and version migrations.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • Education: University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Languages: professional English level is essential; Spanish is valued.
  • Reside in Spain.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in PHP development.
  • Demonstrable experience in Moodle LMS development and maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of Moodle architecture and plugin development.
  • Experience with MySQL or MariaDB databases.
  • Experience in consuming and developing REST APIs.
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP).
