Make our platform, within the FinOps framework, a strategic capability for the Group: enabling planning, forecasting, and optimization of cloud and AI costs, especially those associated with LLM token consumption; providing clear, actionable, and traceable financial visibility at different levels of the organization; and enabling corporate mechanisms for quotas, alerts, budget control, optimization, and financial governance.

Take ownership of the FinOps Platform, defining its vision, roadmap, priorities, and evolution criteria.

Lead AI cost control at MAPFRE, incorporating specific capabilities into PLUTO360 to measure, govern, and optimize LLM token consumption and artificial intelligence services.

Evolve existing mechanisms for quota management, cloud cost control, and alerts to cover AI, GenAI, and intensive LLM consumption scenarios.

Define visibility, reporting, and traceability models by product, team, application, provider, use case, and organizational unit.

Define and evolve budgeting, forecasting, and optimization models for cloud and AI costs.

Design and govern chargeback/showback models supporting multiple allocation criteria for cloud, AI, and shared services.

Lead the evolution of the FinOps Planner, Tracker, and Optimizer modules, incorporating specific capabilities for LLM scenarios.

Define cost calculators, scenario simulators, and optimization mechanisms for cloud, AI, and token consumption.

Design executive dashboards with visibility by entity, country, product, provider, and use case.

Align the FinOps model with the TBM framework (CAPEX/OPEX) for Data Centers and with the new needs for AI financial governance.

Define functional requirements, Definition of Done (DoD), and acceptance criteria for PLUTO360 evolutions.

Ensure FinOps capabilities, including AI cost control, are consumable via API.

Define KPIs and metrics for efficiency, optimization, adoption, and FinOps maturity, including specific indicators for LLM cost, consumption, and efficiency.

At Mapfre, we want to bring in a Principal Engineer to lead the evolution of the FinOps domain and take on the strategic focus of AI cost control. Your main responsibility will be to act as the Owner of the FinOps Platform, evolving it to cover not only cloud cost control, but also the new needs for visibility, governance, optimization, and financial control arising from LLM token consumption and artificial intelligence services.

In your day-to-day role, you will be the functional and technical lead for our platform: you will define standards, models, control mechanisms, decision criteria, and a clear roadmap for platform evolution, incorporating capabilities for quota management, cloud cost control, alerts, consumption traceability, visibility by product/team, and optimization of spending associated with AI and LLMs, working cross-functionally with Cloud, Architecture, Data, Security, Finance, and the Engineering Platform.

What do we need you to know?

Expert in FinOps practices with solid knowledge of Data

  • Solid knowledge of FinOps practices in enterprise environments:
  • Experience with cloud economics (AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI).
  • Experience with On-premise and OpenShift environments
  • Design of cost models, optimization, and financial governance.
  • Experience with internal platforms and engineering products.
  • Data modeling and executive reporting.
  • Experience with FinOps allocation models

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Terraform and GitHub (required). Knowledge of Ansible.
  • Python language, and experience with AWS Step Functions and GitHub Actions will be valued.

Architecture and data models:

  • Experience with data models through ETLs
  • Knowledge of AWS services: GLUE, Lambda, Athena, DynamoDB
  • MongoDB Atlas cost governance and SaaS solutions
  • Knowledge of Oracle and SQL is desirable

Cloud security:

  • Identity & Access Management (Entra ID / Azure AD, RBAC, privileges, delegation).
  • Integration with corporate security services within the Azure ecosystem.

FinOps governance:

  • Definition of standards, policies, and FinOps models.
  • Observability, logging, monitoring, and PLUTO360 alerting.
  • Technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Platform definition in complex enterprise environments
  • Resilient and regional architecture design, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to evaluate architecture decisions
