The role

A major banking institution is looking to hire an Applications Manager (Card Payments) for its offices in Madrid. The ideal candidate should have a functional and technical vision of card payment solutions.

What you'll do

As an Applications Manager in the Card Payments field, your mission will be to manage projects, maintenance activities, and resources associated with the assigned software applications, enabling the organization to achieve its strategic goals, as well as applying methodologies, procedures, knowledge, skills, and technical tools to ensure successful management. Your main duties include:

Managing the lifecycle of assigned applications (enhancements, maintenance, and support).
Planning and coordinating activities, resources, deadlines, and costs associated with the applications.
Acting as a liaison between Business Units, technical teams, and vendors.
Ensuring alignment of applications with business needs and corporate strategy.
Identifying and managing risks, dependencies, and deviations, proposing corrective actions.
Communicating status, progress, and forecasts clearly to stakeholders.
Driving efficiency improvements, synergies, and optimization opportunities.
Ensuring the quality of deliverables and the stability of the service.

Who are we looking for (M/F/D)?

Functional knowledge

Functional knowledge in the field of payment methods, particularly in card payment solutions, in physical and virtual commerce, as well as in transaction processing for institutions and large merchants. The candidate profile must demonstrate knowledge of the actors and elements involved in a payment transaction, and be familiar with the concepts of issuing, acquiring, backing, routing, settlement, and Payment Service Providers.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of payment processing (operational controls, routing, …).
- Knowledge of the ISO 8583 protocol.
- Knowledge of payment terminal protocols for POS terminals, corporate clients, and ATMs.
- Knowledge of issuing solutions (ACS, EMVCo 3DSecure).
- International card schemes (VISA, MasterCard, UnionPay, Discover, etc.)
- Knowledge of value-added services in payment methods:
  - DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion).
  - Risk scoring.
- Knowledge of mobile payment solutions (xPays)
- Knowledge of payment industry regulations: PCI (PCI DSS, PCI PIN, PCI 3DS) and PSD2 / PSD3

Technical knowledge

Strong knowledge of COBOL. Knowledge of IBM IMS infrastructure.
Knowledge of online processing platforms, e.g., SIA.
Knowledge of online authorization platforms, e.g., SAT.
Desirable knowledge of distributed environments and solutions.
Desirable knowledge of distributed environments and solutions in the Cloud.
