Technician responsible for the Waste area (EC-RES)

We are looking for a Technician responsible for the Waste area to lead and consolidate the new Waste Control Entity (EC-RES) in Catalonia, from our offices in Sant Cugat del Vallès. This is a newly created role born from the growth of our Environment line; here you are not coming to follow a pre-marked path, but to build it with the backing of a consolidated group while keeping the agility, freshness, and flat structure that define us.

Instead of a monotonous list of tasks, these will be your main missions in the project:

• Team coordination: Lead, plan, and supervise the department's fieldwork, supporting and training the more junior technicians.

• Waste sampling: Carry out sampling of different types of waste (solid, liquid, and pasty) to classify its hazardousness and determine how it should be managed.

• Environmental control in landfills: Carry out sampling of water (groundwater and surface) and leachate at controlled sites.

• Field measurements: Perform analyses and checks directly in the field (such as measuring temperature, pH, or well water levels) ensuring the reliability of the data.

• Equipment and quality management: Ensure the proper use and maintenance of measuring equipment, draft the meeting minutes and reports for each visit, and guarantee that samples are preserved and transported to the laboratory under optimal conditions.

We understand that giving your best at work requires a real balance with your personal life. That is why we have a schedule designed for well-being:

• General Schedule (Monday to Thursday): from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (with mutually agreed flexibility based on service needs).

• Fridays on wheels: Every Friday of the year we have a intensive workday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing you to switch off much earlier.

• Summer and holiday balance: You will enjoy an intensive workday (from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM) for the entire month of July, the entire month of August, and on all public holiday eves.

• Total disconnection days: December 24 and 31 are completely free for our entire team, so you can enjoy them with your loved ones without using your vacation days.

• Real space to undertake: You will be part of a flat and dynamic structure where decision-making is quick and not bureaucratized. We believe in empowerment and will give you the freedom to manage your department.

We do not understand requirements as barriers, but as the tools and knowledge you will need to succeed in your role from day one:

• Essential accreditation/experience: Being an already authorized technician in the waste sector (MOS and/or MOS-DC).

• Education: Minimum qualification as a Technician (Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle - CFGM). A Higher Vocational Training Cycle (CFGS) or a university degree in the scientific/technical field will be highly valued.

• Nice to have: Accredited EC-RES technician by OA

• Experience in the Sector (>1 year): Proven experience in inspection, environmental consulting, or waste management within the territorial scope of Catalonia. We need you to know the terrain, the stakeholders involved, and the specific procedures of the Catalan market.

• Knowledge of the Catalan Regulatory Framework: Mastery of the decrees and resolutions that regulate Control Entities in Catalonia (EC-RES). This is essential, since your technical decisions and reports must be strictly aligned with the requirements of the administration.

• Institutional Relations Skills and Autonomy: Ability to liaise with administration technicians and plant managers. You will enjoy a high degree of freedom to organize your work and make decisions, so proactive resilience and a problem-solving mindset will be your greatest assets.

Buscamos un/a Técnico/a Responsable del área de Residuos para liderar y consolidar la nueva Entidad de Control de Residuos (EC-RES) en Cataluña, desde nuestras oficinas de Sant Cugat del Vallès. Este es un rol de nueva creación nacido del crecimiento de nuestra línea de Medioambiente; aquí no vienes a seguir un camino premarcado, vienes a construirlo con el respaldo de un grupo consolidado pero manteniendo la agilidad, frescura y estructura plana que nos caracteriza.

En lugar de una lista monótona de tareas, estas serán tus grandes misiones en el proyecto:

• Coordinación del equipo: Liderar, planificar y supervisar el trabajo de campo del departamento, acompañando y formando a los técnicos más júnior.

• Muestreo de residuos: Realizar la toma de muestras de diferentes tipos de residuos (sólidos, líquidos y pastosos) para clasificar su peligrosidad y determinar cómo deben gestionarse.

• Control ambiental en vertederos: Realizar la toma de muestras de aguas (subterráneas y superficiales) y lixiviados en depósitos controlados.

• Mediciones en el terreno: Realizar análisis y comprobaciones directamente en el campo (como medir temperatura, pH o el nivel del agua de los pozos) asegurando la fiabilidad de los datos.

• Gestión de equipos y calidad: Asegurar el buen uso y mantenimiento de los equipos de medición, redactar las actas e informes de cada visita y garantizar que las muestras se conservan y transportan al laboratorio en condiciones óptimas.

• Horario General (Lunes a Jueves): de 8:30h a 18:00h (con flexibilidad consensuada según necesidades del servicio).

• Viernes sobre ruedas: Todos los viernes del año realizamos jornada intensiva de 8:30h a 15:30h, permitiéndote desconectar mucho antes.

• Conciliación estival y festiva: Disfrutarás de jornada intensiva (de 8:30h a 15:30h) durante todo el mes de julio, todo el mes de agosto y en todas las vísperas de días festivos.

• Días de desconexión total: Los días 24 y 31 de diciembre son totalmente libres para todo nuestro equipo, para que los disfrutes con los tuyos sin restar días de tus vacaciones.

• Espacio real para emprender: Formarás parte de una estructura plana y dinámica donde la toma de decisiones es rápida y no está burocratizada. Creemos en el empoderamiento y te daremos la libertad para gestionar tu departamento.

No entendemos los requisitos como barreras, sino como las herramientas y conocimientos que necesitarás para triunfar en tu rol desde el primer día:

• Imprescindible Acreditación/Experiencia: Ser técnico/a ya habilitado/a en el sector de residuos (MOS y/o MOS-DC).

• Formación: Titulación mínima como Técnico/a (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio - CFGM). Se valorará muy positivamente poseer un Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior (CFGS) o un Grado universitario de la rama científica/técnica.

• Valorable: Ser Técnico acreditado EC-RES por OA

• Experiencia en el Sector (>1 año): Experiencia consolidada en inspección, consultoría ambiental o gestión de residuos en el ámbito territorial de Cataluña. Necesitamos que conozcas el terreno, los agentes implicados y los procedimientos específicos del mercado catalán.

• Conocimiento del Marco Normativo Catalán: Dominio de los decretos y resoluciones que regulan las Entidades de Control en Cataluña (EC-RES). Es imprescindible, ya que tus decisiones técnicas e informes deben alinearse estrictamente con las exigencias de la administración.

• Habilidades de Relación Institucional y Autonomía: Capacidad de interlocución con técnicos de la administración y directores de planta. Disfrutarás de un alto grado de libertad para organizar tu trabajo y tomar decisiones estratégicas, por lo que la proactividad y una mentalidad resolutiva serán tus mejores aliadas.
