IT Risk Audit Analyst II - Banco SantanderCountry: Spain

As an IT Business Risk Audit Analyst, your main objective will be to review the controls implemented on technology platforms, providing service from the Corporate Center to the Audit units of the Santander Group in the USA. This position is to work in our offices located in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid.

What you'll do

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Review of the management and control of risks in governance, risk management, and internal control processes related to technology.

  • Provide independent assurance as the third line of defense on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes related to technology.

    • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls.

    • Preparing and maintaining audit work papers in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and standards.

    • Validating action plans and monitoring the implementation of corrective measures arising from audit observations.

    • Participating in walkthroughs, follow-up meetings, and results discussions with audited areas.

  • Collaborate with Santander US Internal Audit teams and other geographies in the execution of global and local audits.

  • Collaborate in the preparation of audit reports, contributing to the definition of clear recommendations aimed at improving processes.

  • Interact with Technology teams and other related control functions in an international environment.

  • Availability to travel occasionally.

Education & certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, or equivalent.

  • Certifications, master's/postgraduate degrees, and specialization courses in technology or audit will be valued.

Languages

  • A high level of English is essential, at least a B2 level, as the work will be carried out entirely in this language.

Professional experience

  • 1-5 years of experience in internal audit, technology audit, technology risk management, or technology risk consulting in financial institutions or professional services firms.

  • Experience in executing technology control testing, audit documentation, and risk assessment.

Technical skills (Hard skills)

  • Expert level in Office and database management.

  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, SAS, SQL, R, etc.).
