About the role

Legal Transformation OpsCountry: Spain

Santander (www.santander.com) is evolving from being a high-impact global brand to a technology-driven organization, and people are at the center of this journey. Together, we are leading a customer-centric transformation that values disruptive thinking, the courage to challenge what is possible, and the ability to innovate.

This is more than a strategic shift: it's an opportunity to grow, learn, and make a real impact.

Our mission is to help more people and businesses prosper. We embrace a strong risk culture and expect all our teams to take a proactive and responsible approach to risk management.

Wealth Management & Insurance spans three businesses across all Santander countries: Insurance, Asset Management, and Private Banking. We work to deliver the best solutions to our clients in these three areas across the 10 countries where we operate.

Wealth Management & Insurance is looking for a Legal Transformation Ops professional based in Boadilla del Monte to join the Legal team at Banco Santander, with full dedication to the transformation, operational improvement, digitalization, and scalability of the legal function.

The selected candidate will be responsible for helping to design, drive, and execute the WM&I Legal transformation plan, working directly with the leadership of the Legal Advisory team and the various legal teams within the division to identify priorities, redesign processes, improve knowledge management, drive AI/automation use cases, and facilitate a more efficient, traceable, and data-driven way of working.

The role will have a highly practical and execution-focused approach: turning real team needs into concrete initiatives, coordinating the Legal Advisory team with Technology & Operations, Artificial Intelligence, and other relevant areas, while maintaining the necessary coordination with existing Legal Operations capabilities at the Group level.

We are redefining the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration, and the freedom to explore new ideas.

  • Coordinating with Technology & Operations, AI, and other areas to define, prioritize, and implement automation solutions, agentification, workflows, dashboards, databases, and shared information repositories.

  • Driving the creation of a common legal knowledge base, templates, playbooks, and standards, in coordination with the corresponding legal teams.

  • Designing and implementing metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting to facilitate decision-making and measure the impact of initiatives.

  • Supporting the improvement of legal spend processes, external counsel management, reporting, matter tracking, standard documentation, and evidence retention.

  • Serving as the point of contact for WM&I Legal with internal areas involved in transformation, technology, data, AI, and Legal Operations.

  • Facilitating change management and the adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working within legal teams.

  • Preparing executive materials to track the transformation plan for WM&I Legal leadership.
