Data Architecture Manager | Microsoft Azure

We are looking for a Data Architecture Manager with experience in the design, implementation and evolution of large-scale enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure.

The selected candidate will act as the architecture and delivery reference for business and technology stakeholders, leading complex transformation initiatives across different countries, teams and delivery centers. The role combines data architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder management, delivery planning and international program coordination.

Duties

• Design enterprise data architectures on Microsoft Azure covering data ingestion, transformation, storage, processing, analytics, visualization, security, quality and governance using Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, Power BI, SQL and PySpark.
• Lead the definition and execution of data transformation programs with multiple concurrent workstreams and releases, coordinating dependencies, estimates, risks, quality controls and delivery schedules across teams distributed in different countries and time zones.
• Govern architecture decisions and platform technical standards, including Lakehouse and Data Warehouse patterns, data modeling, continuous integration, continuous deployment, Azure DevOps, FinOps, security, traceability, governance and data quality.
• Act as the main client contact for architecture and delivery decisions, translating business needs into technical solutions, presenting alternatives to executive stakeholders and defining the platform evolution roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Define the target architecture and evolution roadmaps for Microsoft Azure-based data platforms, establishing principles, patterns, technology components, integration mechanisms and adoption criteria.
• Design ingestion and transformation pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL and Delta Lake, ensuring their integration with Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2 and Power BI.
• Establish technical governance models for architecture, metadata management, data quality, security, access control, traceability, observability, FinOps and regulatory compliance.
• Lead international and multidisciplinary teams made up of architects, data engineers, analysts and client stakeholders, coordinating activities across different markets, delivery centers and time zones.
• Manage multiple workstreams and releases in parallel, carrying out planning, estimation, prioritization, dependency tracking, risk control and validation of deliverables.
• Implement CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps to automate the validation, versioning, integration, deployment and monitoring of data components.
• Ensure alignment between functional, regulatory and operational requirements and their implementation in the architecture and data products.
• Prepare and present architecture decisions, progress, risks, dependencies and recommendations to technical stakeholders, business leaders and executive committees.
• Define reusable standards and mentor architects and data engineers in the use of architecture patterns, engineering best practices and quality criteria.
• Evaluate the adoption of Data Products, Data Mesh, generative artificial intelligence and RAG system architectures in the platform evolution.

• At least 10 years of professional experience in Data & Analytics programs.
• Professional experience leading enterprise data transformation initiatives on Microsoft Azure.
• Professional experience designing enterprise data architectures that include ingestion, transformation, storage, processing, analytics, security, quality and governance.
• Professional experience with Azure Databricks.
• Professional experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Professional experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Professional experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• Professional experience developing data transformation processes using SQL and PySpark.
• Professional experience designing Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures with Delta Lake.
• Professional experience implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
• Professional experience in Data Governance and Data Quality.
• Professional experience managing international projects with multiple concurrent workstreams and releases.
• Professional experience coordinating distributed and multidisciplinary teams made up of architects, engineers, analysts and client stakeholders.
• Professional experience in regulated enterprise environments, such as insurance, financial services, telecommunications, utilities or sectors with equivalent security and compliance requirements.
• Professional experience as a client contact for architecture, planning and delivery decisions.
• Professional experience communicating technical decisions, risks, dependencies and roadmaps to executive stakeholders.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of generative AI and AI tools applied to the workplace are required, in line with Accenture's commitment to the responsible and effective use of AI.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, associated with exam AZ-305, or an equivalent current certification.

• Professional Databricks certification related to Data Engineering, Data Analytics or platform architecture.
• Professional experience designing modern Data & AI architectures.
• Professional experience with generative artificial intelligence and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures.
• Professional experience defining and implementing Data Products or Data Mesh models.
• Professional experience at Allianz or other international organizations in the insurance sector.
• Professional experience applying FinOps practices to enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure.
• Professional experience mentoring data architects and data engineers.

La persona seleccionada actuará como referente de arquitectura y delivery para interlocutores de negocio y tecnología, liderando iniciativas complejas de transformación en distintos países, equipos y centros de entrega. El puesto combina arquitectura de datos, liderazgo técnico, gestión de stakeholders, planificación de entregas y coordinación internacional de programas.

Funciones

• Diseñar arquitecturas empresariales de datos en Microsoft Azure que cubran la ingesta, transformación, almacenamiento, procesamiento, analítica, visualización, seguridad, calidad y gobierno de la información mediante Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, Power BI, SQL y PySpark.
• Liderar la definición y ejecución de programas de transformación de datos con varios workstreams y releases concurrentes, coordinando dependencias, estimaciones, riesgos, controles de calidad y calendarios de entrega entre equipos distribuidos en diferentes países y zonas horarias.
• Gobernar las decisiones de arquitectura y los estándares técnicos de la plataforma, incluyendo patrones Lakehouse y Data Warehouse, modelado de datos, integración continua, despliegue continuo, Azure DevOps, FinOps, seguridad, trazabilidad, gobierno y calidad de datos.
• Actuar como principal interlocutor/a del cliente en las decisiones de arquitectura y delivery, traduciendo necesidades de negocio en soluciones técnicas, presentando alternativas a stakeholders ejecutivos y definiendo el roadmap de evolución de la plataforma.

Responsabilidades

• Definir la arquitectura objetivo y los roadmaps de evolución de plataformas de datos basadas en Microsoft Azure, estableciendo principios, patrones, componentes tecnológicos, mecanismos de integración y criterios de adopción.
• Diseñar pipelines de ingesta y transformación con Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL y Delta Lake, asegurando su integración con Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2 y Power BI.
• Establecer modelos de gobierno técnico para la arquitectura, gestión de metadatos, calidad del dato, seguridad, control de accesos, trazabilidad, observabilidad, FinOps y cumplimiento normativo.
• Dirigir equipos internacionales y multidisciplinares formados por arquitectos/as, ingenieros/as de datos, analistas y stakeholders del cliente, coordinando actividades entre distintos mercados, centros de entrega y zonas horarias.
• Gestionar varios workstreams y releases en paralelo, realizando la planificación, estimación, priorización, seguimiento de dependencias, control de riesgos y validación de entregables.
• Implantar prácticas de CI/CD mediante Azure DevOps para automatizar la validación, versionado, integración, despliegue y monitorización de componentes de datos.
• Asegurar la correspondencia entre los requisitos funcionales, regulatorios y operativos y su implantación en la arquitectura y los productos de datos.
• Preparar y presentar decisiones de arquitectura, avances, riesgos, dependencias y recomendaciones ante interlocutores técnicos, responsables de negocio y comités ejecutivos.
• Definir estándares reutilizables y mentorizar a arquitectos/as e ingenieros/as de datos en el uso de patrones de arquitectura, buenas prácticas de ingeniería y criterios de calidad.
• Evaluar la incorporación de arquitecturas de Data Products, Data Mesh, inteligencia artificial generativa y sistemas RAG en la evolución de la plataforma.
