ACCIONA, in its Construction business line, requires the incorporation of a Contract Manager for its workplace in Cantabria.

What you'll do

  • Manage and control the full project life cycle, including supply, subcontracting, joint venture, and client contracts.
  • Review, negotiate, and draft contracts, annexes, addenda, and amendments, in coordination with the legal, financial, and technical departments.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage contractual risks, proposing preventive and corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with the deadlines, milestones, and obligations established in each contract, providing early warning of potential deviations.
  • Manage disputes with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, including the quantification and documentation of damages and losses.
  • Prepare and process change orders, scope variations, and extension of time requests, ensuring their proper justification and documentation.
  • Keep the contractual file and associated document management systems up to date.
  • Coordinate and provide support to project teams in the interpretation and application of contractual clauses.
  • Collaborate with the legal department in the management of disputes, arbitrations, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Prepare periodic reports on the contractual status of the assigned project for presentation to management.

Education & certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate training in Contract Management will be positively valued.

Languages

  • Spanish: native or bilingual proficiency.
  • English: advanced level (C1 or higher).

Professional experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction, infrastructure, concessions, or engineering sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale contracts and in civil works or building environments.
  • Experience in managing contractual claims and in dispute resolution processes (negotiation, mediation, arbitration).

Technical knowledge

  • Strong command of Spanish contract regulations, including the Civil Code, the Public Sector Contracts Act (LCSP), and applicable sector regulations.
  • Knowledge of international contract standards, especially FIDIC, NEC, or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in contract management software tools (Contract Management Software) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of project management.

  • Ability to conduct legal and economic analysis of complex contractual documentation.
  • Negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
