Firmware Engineer – Embedded Product Development

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to join one of the teams that the Mobility & Transportation unit of BETWEEN Technology has deployed at one of our main clients in the automotive sector.

The selected person will participate in the design and development of software and firmware for automotive electronic products (cameras, eMirror systems, ADAS modules), covering the entire product lifecycle: from concept and prototyping to validation and production launch. They will work closely with the Hardware, Validation, and Production teams to ensure the robustness, reliability, and traceability of the systems.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for electronic products in the automotive sector.
  • Develop firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
  • Develop and debug software in Linux environments.
  • Implement and debug automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, I2C.
  • Integrate software with electronic hardware: ECUs, cameras, sensors, and vision systems.
  • Develop and maintain low-level drivers and hardware abstraction layers (HAL).
  • Participate in the development of embedded vision solutions using OpenCV.
  • Collaborate on developments involving FPGAs, in coordination with the hardware team.
  • Provide support for board bring-up and HW/SW integration.
  • Participate in the definition of the system architecture and key technical decisions.
  • Use and contribute to CI/CD environments for version control, integration, and release generation (Jenkins, Bitbucket).
  • Collaborate with the Hardware, Validation, and Production teams to ensure the robustness, reliability, and traceability of the product.
  • Provide technical support during system validations and vehicle integration.
  • Maintain requirements traceability using tools such as JIRA.

Essential requirements:

  • Education:
  • Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering (profiles in Computer Engineering or similar with solid experience in embedded systems will also be considered).

  • Solid experience in embedded software development in C/C++.
  • Experience in development on Linux (development and debugging in Linux environments).
  • Experience in firmware for microcontrollers.
  • Solid knowledge of electronics and hardware/software interaction.
  • Experience working with automotive protocols: CAN, LIN, I2C.
  • Experience in developing vision solutions with OpenCV.
  • Experience or familiarity with FPGA development (in collaboration with hardware).
