About the role

We are selecting a Project Quality Engineer to join one of the teams that the Mobility & Transportation unit of BETWEEN has deployed at one of our main clients dedicated to manufacturing plastic components for the automotive sector.

The selected person will be responsible for managing project quality during the development phase until the start of serial production (SOP), leading the APQP documentation on the client's platforms and participating in design reviews and mold trials.

What you'll do

  • You will manage project quality during the development phase until SOP.
  • You will participate in design reviews together with the development team, analyzing possible product and process failures.
  • You will review CADs, RPS, gauge concepts and characteristics to be controlled.
  • You will participate in tolerance analyses and validate the feasibility of quality requirements.
  • You will prepare and manage the APQP documentation on the client's platforms.
  • You will develop and follow up on FMEAs, Control Plans and PPAP documentation.
  • You will manage approvals and activities related to the APQP process.
  • You will participate in injection trials, detecting and analyzing product and process defects.
  • You will follow up on suppliers and toolmakers, attending mold trials in Europe as needed.
  • You will coordinate with the development, quality, laboratory and client teams.

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the quality area within the automotive sector.
  • Experience in Project Quality having led at least one complete project until SOP.
  • Training in quality tools or systems: IATF 16949 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of APQP and PPAP documentation.
  • Knowledge of MLA and project milestone management.
  • Knowledge of core tools: FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.
  • Knowledge of error-proofing methods such as Poka-Yoke.
  • Experience in quality approvals with clients.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection processes for parts.
  • Ability to identify injection defects and participate in mold trials.
  • Proficient in Excel and computer tools, as a large part of the work is carried out on platforms and in a document-based environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, use your own judgment and proactively identify and escalate risks.
  • Organizational, planning and communication skills.
