About the role

From the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, we are looking to hire a Career Advisor to strengthen the Careers Team and continue driving comprehensive student support throughout their academic and professional journey.

The Career Advisor is a key role within the University: this is a profile focused on career guidance, employer relations, and vocational support with a direct impact on employability and students' professional development.

If you join the UAO Careers Service, you will find a committed team that is currently growing and consolidating, so you will be able to actively participate in building a career guidance model with real impact.

What you'll do

Your main mission will be to support UAO students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, from the early stages of their education through to their entry into the job market, by:

  • Providing individual career advising to students on understanding the job market, internship and job search strategies, as well as defining professional goals and purpose, and establishing future action plans.
  • Managing relationships with partner companies and establishing new ones. Handling employer outreach and acquisition, follow-up, and renewal of framework agreements, as well as identifying internship and job opportunities.
  • Managing and following up on university internship listings in the job board.
  • Organizing and actively participating in events connecting students with the job market, such as career guidance sessions, employability workshops, sessions with companies, and networking activities to connect students with employers.
  • Coordinating regularly with the academic directors of the three Faculties, as well as with the coordinators of each undergraduate and postgraduate program. Coordinating with other services within the Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life to identify needs and opportunities for mutual improvement.
  • Preparing information and reports on the job market in specific fields, as well as analyzing trends and sectors, with ongoing interaction with HR professionals.

Languages

  • Catalan and Spanish: advanced level.
  • English: B2 level.

Required profile

  • A university degree in fields such as Psychology, Education, Pedagogy, or related qualifications.
  • Additional training or experience in career guidance, career development, recruitment, coaching, or vocational support will be valued.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in university settings will be highly valued.

Key competencies and skills

  • Strong student-oriented approach.
  • Listening skills, empathy, and the ability to provide support.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Interest in the job market and professional trends.
  • Teamwork and a cross-disciplinary perspective.
