About KNDS Defence UK Limited
KNDS Defence UK Limited (KNDS UK) is a defence manufacturer based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England, employing around 500 co-workers. It is an established world leader in rapidly deployable military bridging systems — the Medium Girder Bridge and Dry Support Bridge — in service with the British Army, U.S. Army and other NATO forces, and acts as a long-established Prime Contractor to the UK Ministry of Defence and U.S. Department of Defense. It is also the KNDS UK footprint for the Boxer armoured vehicle programme, fabricating armoured vehicle structures and assembling, integrating and testing complete vehicles at a purpose-built facility in Stockport.
There is no evidence of any Spanish presence: the company operates from a single UK site at Heaton Chapel, Stockport, and its group careers pages list openings in the UK, France and Germany only. For international professionals, it is relevant primarily as a UK-based employer within the wider KNDS group (rooted in German and French land systems manufacturers), with current openings concentrated in hands-on manufacturing, engineering, quality, logistics and purchasing roles at its Stockport site.

Good to know if you are moving
- The company operates from a single UK site: 'We have been based at the same site in Heaton Chapel, Stockport, UK since 1917, and we remain a significant employer' — there is no evidence of any Spanish office.
- The workforce is around 500 co-workers ('Founded in 1915 Co-workers 500'), so it is a mid-sized specialist manufacturer rather than a large corporate.
- It is a long-established Prime Contractor to the UK Ministry of Defence and U.S. Department of Defense, working with international governments and NGOs.
- KNDS group careers pages list openings in France, Germany and the UK — no Spain locations are advertised.
- Current openings are concentrated in manufacturing and engineering roles at Stockport (welders, assemblers, quality, maintenance, logistics and purchasing).
