Regulation Specialist (Madrid)

We are looking for people to join our Regulation team in the General Directorate of Networks, which encompasses the electricity and gas network businesses in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Mexico, and Panama. Our team aims to propose and secure optimal regulations in the countries where we operate, thanks to a deep understanding of the business and global regulatory best practices.

As a team member, you will work hand in hand with the network businesses in their relationship with Regulators. We are looking for young, curious, creative, and flexible talent who wants to work in a team of excellence. What you'll do

  • Participating in the definition and defense of the Group's interests in the face of regulatory changes, both unexpected and foreseeable, with special attention to tariff reviews.
  • Understanding the energy markets in which we operate by examining their energy transition plans and their social, political, and economic implications.
  • Working hand in hand with the regulation teams of the network businesses to build models for analyzing regulatory frameworks, quantifying alternatives, and supporting dialogue with Regulators. This role may require occasional travel.
  • Ensuring the consistency of regulatory proposals across different countries.
  • Analyzing the impact of regulatory decisions on the economic and financial results of our Networks businesses. Creating potential regulatory scenarios for the development of the Group's Strategic Plans and Investment Plans.
  • Building and maintaining global regulatory benchmarks together with the different Network businesses, to share them with Regulators when appropriate.
  • Presenting the results of analyses in a concise, clear, robust, and convincing manner.

What we're looking for

  • Languages: Spanish and English (C1)
  • Data Analytics: data processing and statistical analysis (Stata, or programming in Python, R, or similar). 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel to Latin America occasionally.
  • Previous experience in Regulation.

  • Language: Portuguese.
