We are currently looking for an HSE Technician for our offices in Barcelona to develop, implement, and continuously improve Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) programs in Spain and Portugal. This role ensures alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements across the cluster, fostering a proactive safety culture in all operations.

What you'll do

  • Development and implementation of HSSE policies: Develop, implement, and oversee the company's Health, Safety, Security, and Environment policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring compliance with Spanish legislation and EU regulations.
  • Risk assessment and inspections: Conduct workplace risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement preventive measures. Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations and local labor authorities.
  • Legislative updates: Stay up to date with changes in HSSE legislation and best practices to ensure company compliance.
  • National HSSE strategy: Define the national HSSE strategy and ensure its implementation at each site.
  • Participation in audits and data recording: Contribute and collaborate in all HSSE audits and maintain appropriate records in coordination with focal points.
  • Support to branches: Support the HSSE management systems of the branches in coordination with focal points.
  • Liaison with unions and committees: Act as a liaison with union representatives and safety committees.
  • HSSE reporting tools and key performance indicators (KPIs): Promote the use of HSSE reporting tools (software) and compliance with performance metrics and HSSE KPIs.
  • HSSE training programs: Design and deliver HSSE training programs for employees at all levels, including emergency response, first aid, ergonomics, and safe work practices.
  • Promotion of safety culture: Promote a strong safety culture within the company through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety committees.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention according to current legislation (Spain).
  • Certifications in HSSE and Integrated Management Systems (ISO Standards).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in relevant HSSE management.
  • Intermediate level of English and Spanish (oral and written). Knowledge of Catalan will be valued.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish and EU regulatory framework in HSSE matters.
  • Practical experience with HSSE management systems and risk coordination platforms.
  • Proficiency in digital platforms for storing and tracking HSSE documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience supporting audits and ensuring management systems are prepared for them.
  • Knowledge of audit processes and ability to organize documentation appropriately. Coordination of audits and review of processes with those responsible at each branch.
