Job Title: Corporate Strategy Expert

Functional Area - Position within the organizational chart of the belonging Directorate

A junior consultant is sought for the Corporate Strategy Department, who will operate in a pool model with dynamic assignment to the different areas of the Department

Main Functions

  • Participate in strategic projects of high relevance for the Group:
    • Perform various analyses (benchmark, diagnosis, valuation of different alternatives...) on key issues (e.g. transformation, digital business development, infrastructure projects...)
    • Work with local strategy teams and global areas to agree on conclusions and design execution plans
    • Structure and synthesize conclusions into executive documents for senior management
  • Support inorganic projects (Pre-deal, Post-deal):
    • Support the identification and analysis of inorganic options that improve our competitive position and increase the value of our portfolio
    • Develop the Business Case and quantify the synergies of potential assets
    • Support Due Diligence processes, performing analysis on main business issues and critical points with impact on valuation
    • Participate in integration projects as part of the PMI team, providing support in the design of the integration plan, leading the achievement of synergies, etc.
  • Participate in the company's strategic planning process:
    • Collaborate in the design of the "equity story" and in the definition of strategic priorities
    • Work with global areas and countries to align and consolidate results
    • Prepare consolidated documents for reporting to senior management
  • Market trend analysis:
    • Identify and analyze new trends in the ICT sector (Edge, 5G, NaaS, APis, Web 3.0, Crypto, Blockchain, Metaverse, etc.)
    • Prepare documents synthesizing the implications for Telefónica/the market and lessons to be learned
    • Perform analysis of Telefónica's competitive position in its markets and study different scenarios to serve as decision-making tools

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Academic Background

Degree in STEM profiles (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics - e.g. Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or Degree in Business Administration/Economics

Master's degrees, postgraduate studies or an MBA will be positively valued

Generic Competencies

  • Analytical capacity, attention to detail, as well as reliability and precision
  • Oral and written communication skills oriented towards senior management and assertiveness
  • Ability to take responsibility, proactivity, and availability to accommodate work peaks

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years. Experience in Strategic Consulting: Consulting/Corporate Finance Department of Big Four or Boutique, Investment Banking, etc.
  • Sector knowledge (TMT industry) and/or financial knowledge, as well as in new technologies (Edge, 5G, NaaS, APis, Web 3.0, Crypto, Blockchain, Metaverse, etc.) will be positively valued
