About the role

We are looking to add a junior technician to the hydrogeology team to participate in the comprehensive management of projects related to groundwater abstraction. 

What you'll do

  • Taking water samples and measuring levels, flows and physicochemical parameters in situ
  • Monitoring and supervising drilling, construction and rehabilitation works of wells and boreholes
  • Supervision of field work and sampling campaigns
  • Collecting operating parameters of water intake points
  • Design and monitoring of wells and piezometers
  • Coordination of all aspects: legal, construction, rehabilitation, equipment and commissioning.
  • Preparation of technical reports and project summaries
  • Interpretation of hydrogeological data and water quality analysis
  • Management of permits and administrative authorizations
  • Environmental impact assessment in hydrogeological aspects
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary technical teams

Academic Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor's or Licentiate Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines.
  • Postgraduate: Master's or Postgraduate degree in Hydrogeology or Hydrology will be highly valued.

Experience and Competencies

  • Experience: Previous experience in the hydrogeological sector will be positively valued.
  • Skills: Organizational capacity, project management and coordination skills.
  • Profile: Strong orientation and motivation for field work.

Technical Knowledge

  • Essential: Proficiency in Office and general command of QGIS.
  • Valued: Knowledge of specialized software: MODFLOW, FEFLOW or AQTESolv (training will be provided).

Mobility and Other Requirements

  • Driving license: Type B (essential).
  • Availability: Flexibility to travel occasionally within Catalonia and, occasionally, throughout the rest of Spain.
