Company History
Yara International was founded in 1905 in Norway as Norsk Hydro, initially to produce nitrogen fertilizer using hydroelectric power. Over the decades, it expanded into a global chemical and fertilizer company, and in 2004, the fertilizer division was spun off as Yara International. Since then, Yara has grown through acquisitions and innovations, becoming the world's largest producer of mineral fertilizers and a leader in crop nutrition and environmental solutions.
