Data Engineer | Oracle & Teradata

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a Technical Database Office within the Social Security Data Office. The role combines a high level of technical expertise in SQL with specialization in enterprise databases, acting as a reference in optimization, physical modeling, and efficient management of platforms such as Oracle and Teradata. The position is based in Spain under a hybrid work model, with some days working from home and others in the office, where you will be able to create interesting synergies with the rest of your team. It is essential to reside in Spain and have a work permit in Spain. Responsibilities:

• Development of complex SQL queries using CTEs, analytic functions, and advanced aggregations on Oracle and Teradata environments.
• Query performance optimization using Explain Plan, execution analysis, and application of SQL tuning techniques.
• Design of physical structures including partitioning, advanced indexing, compression, and data storage strategies.
• Implementation and maintenance of stored procedures and technical support for batch, streaming, and CDC load processes.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical reference for databases within the Technical Office, defining SQL development standards and best practices.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks in production environments and propose solutions based on advanced tuning and redesign of physical structures.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams in defining optimized physical data models for high volume.
• Produce technical documentation, usage guides, and recommendations for the efficient use of Oracle Database and Teradata.

Qualifications: Essential requirements:

• Advanced experience in ANSI SQL and advanced SQL (CTEs, analytic functions, complex aggregations).
• Experience with Oracle Database and/or Teradata in enterprise environments.
• Experience in performance optimization and use of Explain Plan.
• Advanced English level.
• Advanced level of Spanish.

Valuable requirements:

• Experience in batch, streaming, or CDC data load processes.
• Experience in physical database design (partitioning, indexing, compression).
• Experience developing stored procedures.
• Experience developing technical standards or best practice guides.

• Desarrollo de consultas complejas en SQL utilizando CTEs, funciones analíticas y agregaciones avanzadas sobre entornos Oracle y Teradata.
• Optimización de rendimiento de queries mediante uso de Explain Plan, análisis de ejecución y aplicación de técnicas de SQL Tuning.
• Diseño de estructuras físicas incluyendo particionamiento, indexación avanzada, compresión y estrategia de almacenamiento de datos.
• Implementación y mantenimiento de procedimientos almacenados y soporte técnico a procesos de carga batch, streaming y CDC.

Responsabilidades:

• Actuar como referente técnico en bases de datos dentro de la Oficina Técnica, definiendo estándares de desarrollo SQL y buenas prácticas.
• Analizar cuellos de botella de rendimiento en entornos productivos y proponer soluciones basadas en tuning avanzado y rediseño de estructuras físicas.
• Colaborar con equipos de desarrollo y arquitectura en la definición de modelos de datos físicos optimizados para alto volumen.
• Elaborar documentación técnica, guías de uso y recomendaciones para el uso eficiente de Oracle Database y Teradata.

Cualificaciones:Requisitos imprescindibles:

• Experiencia avanzada en SQL ANSI y SQL avanzado (CTEs, funciones analíticas, agregaciones complejas).
• Experiencia con Oracle Database y/o Teradata en entornos empresariales.
• Experiencia en optimización de rendimiento y uso de Explain Plan.
• Nivel de inglés avanzado.
• Nivel de español avanzado.

Requisitos valorables:

• Experiencia en procesos de carga de datos batch, streaming o CDC.
• Experiencia en diseño físico de bases de datos (particionamiento, indexación, compresión).
• Experiencia desarrollando procedimientos almacenados.
• Experiencia elaborando estándares técnicos o guías de buenas prácticas.
