Clínica Baviera was founded in 1945 by Doctor Julio Baviera Juste as an ophthalmology practice, growing into the leading private ophthalmology group in Spain. The company expanded nationally for decades, then internationalized into Italy and Germany, becoming the largest eye care group in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. In 2015, the company was acquired by the European private equity firm EQT, reinforcing its expansion.
